Why would you want to eat like you normally do?
-
It's in my signature, right under my post.

will i ever be able to stop sipping....and just drink it down?
LipstickLady replied to sleeveb430's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Three weeks out and still sipping. Sips are getting a bit bigger and closer together, so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I can't wait to drink like a regular person. -
Peek at my ticker! I'm closing in on 40 pounds including pre op.

I would give away my first born for a peanut butter spoon. For real.

Don't be sad. I am three weeks post op and I do not miss food a bit. In fact, I kind of dread it right now. Making yourself eat after decades of being fat is extremely bizarre.

My first GNO since surgery and I had.....
LipstickLady posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Once a month my sorority sisters and I go out for dinner, shopping and gossip about anyone who couldn't make it. Last month it was the week before my surgery and tonight was my first post op. We chose a Mongolian BBQ thinking I could get Soup, but this restaurant (Genghis Grill) didn't have any. Yes, I know to check online ahead of time, but I had sworn they had it so totally my fault. I was totally fine not ordering anything as I am on mushies, but a couple of friends ordered Edamame so I gave it a go. I ate six pods worth and was full. It was delicious and I can't wait to reheat it for tomorrow. I would have preferred it a bit softer for my current stage, but it was salty, garlicy and citrusy all in one! I love that it's fun to eat, perfectly portioned (one bean is a bite) and full of Protein. So excited that it stayed down, too! Yay me! -

I'm interested in the 16s! Where are you? Pictures? -
Yup. Eat something looser. I was 17 days out before I could eat something and now, 22 days out, it still sticks like an SOB if it's not thin enough. Think runny mashed taters, runny scrambled eggs, etc.

You are ringing my bell, girl! My answer to your question? Just be you! I have no plans to change who I am, and people can like me or hate me. I care little to none. -
Does anyone feel like they are the "fatest" one in your family?
LipstickLady replied to memk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My oldest goes to a high school on the pricier side of town. Every mom spends her day at the club "playing tennis" (aka drinking martinis),"working out" with her "personal trainer" (aka getting a massage), or doing volunteer "work" (aka lunching with friends). I am the only one that does not show up at school with a perfectly even spray tan, in a tennis skirt or a the perfect yoga outfit and/or heels. I am definitely the fat mom. I cannot WAIT for school to start in September. My Mexican/Italian heritage is SURE to beat their tan in a can and while I still might not be their size, I have no doubt that I will be much closer. Right now they are very nice to me for the most part, but you can definitely tell they think fat is contagious. My back to school wardrobe is going to rock! -
When will I learn how to eat?
LipstickLady replied to vegasneon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved May 16 and was allowed puréed food a week from yesterday. Yesterday was the first day I could get anything down without evacuation. It's my thought that you are moving too quickly. I was told to try one new food at a time. I do use a baby spoon and it takes me upwards of an hour to consume an egg or a quarter cup of mashed potatoes. I tried Beans and they DID NOT work. Perhaps the sweet potato is too thick? I don't like sweet potato so I don't know what you would add to "water it down", milk perhaps? -
Does anyone else do a happy dance when they finally have a bm?
LipstickLady replied to bdo2309's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've made two poodles (two days in a row) since my surgery and I am three weeks out. I have no doubt I will do a dance if I ever poo again. It's been nine days.
