Great question for you NUT!

anyone losing self confidence with weight loss?
LipstickLady replied to ********'s topic in The Gals' Room
I am right there with you. I used to be able to do a 2 hour martial arts class with a lot of sweating (and swearing). Now if I make it through 40 minutes at 75% effort, I am doing awesome. I know that will come back with time as I am only consuming about 350 calories and maybe 25 carbs a day. Yesterday I thought I was the cat's PJs after an hour of swimming laps until I realized I used to swim 45-60 and only swam about 25. HA! Energy will return. It has for everyone else and it will for me, too. I am only a month out and I know you are less, right? -
Almost there - what do you think?

I'd love to look like a model when the clothes come off but that said, being a healthy weight is much more important to me. -

My weight is perfectly proportioned all over my body. The plus side of this (see what I did there?) is that at 264 pounds, I could wear a comfortable size 20 at 5'3". The downside is that after 40 pounds lost, because I am losing it allllll over, I have "only" shrunk 2 sizes (and the 16Ws are snug, something I don't love the look of) and only one person who didn't know about this surgery has commented on my progress. -
Breakky dumps! ????????????
LipstickLady replied to k8ee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dumping is vomiting. Taking a dump is pooping in the US. My NUT is one who told my about saliva/mucous overfill causing my nausea and suggested Zyrtec to dry it up. She also told me to take all my meds except my acid blocker at lunch because all my meds were like a full meal. Making the move helped a lot. -

True love is spending 2 hours preparing a dish that is a personal favorite ...
LipstickLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in Food and Nutrition
I was actually able to eat about two tablespoons of deliciousness without feeling bad. Lesson learned. I need to eat hamster sized bites and put my fork down for a long time between each one. -

... that you know will have you hovering over a toilet (sitting and/or standing) for the evening if you eat any of it. Happy Father's Day to all you dads and single moms out there! If you love Enchiladas, I just made a 5 pound pan of them and it's only my husband and father eating them tonight. They smell so darn good and I know the consequences of even thinking about it. -

LipstickLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in Food and Nutrition
I'm just a month out and struggle with much more than yogurt. Ground beef, olives, and onions probably aren't going to make it much farther than the toilet for me. I look forward to getting there though! Spicy doesn't bother me at all. -

Premier Protein Drinks Review - Chocolate
LipstickLady commented on joatsaint's blog entry in Gastric Sleeve Surgery - An Unexpected Journey
Premier Protein bars are on sale a Costco right now, 18 for $15. I like the EAS Rich Dark Chocolate best, but for 30 grams of protein, I do the Premier, too. It's a great way to knock out the bulk of my protein at one time. If you are like me and don't like the oversweetness of either, add a 1/3 cup of dried nonfat milk and blend. It adds protein and cuts the sweet. Makes it thicker, too. -
My goodbye to diet coke
LipstickLady replied to stacy03's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used to drink up to a 2 liter of Coke Zero a day and gave it up cold turkey a month before surgery. The first two days were hard and I've not really thought about it since. Start experimenting with different zero calorie liquids now so that you find something you like pre-surgery. You will be so full on liquids, you won't have room to think about the fizzy, teeth rotting acid. -
What kind of undies?
LipstickLady replied to ewhitt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a catheter until a few hours before discharge so no undies for me! -

Get those puppies reduced! I have 42 DDDs and if they don't go down to D's or even better, C's, they are coming off. I don't have pain, but just for the ability to see my scale without smashing in my boobs, and to be able to wear a buttoned blouse that actually fits... I don't have much hope for them shrinking. I am also 5'3 and I have had DDs since I was 108 pounds in high school.

Will sips fade?
LipstickLady replied to caitlinrose88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a month out and just starting to be able to do a little more than sip. It's kind of limiting my ability to go full out at the gym because I know I can't keep up drinking and sweating. -
So where are all the cool kids this beautiful Friday and what's for lunch?
LipstickLady replied to newat52's topic in The Lounge
We will probably hit the pool and then BBQ some burgers on the grill. My dad lives about 10 minutes away max, so he will be with us! Me? I will enjoy a lovely slice of watermelon, a few baked beans and maybe some of the three bean salad I am making. Maybe. -

Really? That's a shame. I'd think you'd regret NOT remembering him far more than you would regret remembering him. -

My surgeon has done over 1,000 bariatric surgeries via robotics and his partners have each done the same. Out of the five of them, they have only had one leak in their practice ever. He actually left the morning after my surgery to go train new doctors at Jon Hopkins medical center on how to use the equipment and we know that's a top medical facility. I'm happy with the decision I made.
