Most insurance companies cover WLS, it's the company you work for who chooses what packages to buy and if THEY want to buy the plan that covers WLS. Big diff. -

I was sleeved almost 5 weeks ago and can't really get past the pureed stage yet. Some days I can tolerate a nibble or two of VERY moist meat, but then I am done for the day. I don't want to sound judgy, but I know I am going to. Why are you pushing the limits of your sleeve so soon and why are you not following your surgeon's instructions? It sounds to me like you are sabotaging yourself. Maybe you don't realize that you really are still in the high danger zone of having a leak. From what I understand, and I am sure I will be corrected, we are in the danger zone of leaks until 6 or so months out. Your doctor has a reason for telling you to eat foods in certain stages, not only for the health of your new stomach, but also for optimum weight loss. If you are already choosing to eat pizza, drink wine, consume ice cream, etc. at just under three weeks, what results are you truly expecting from your sleeve? It can't do the work for you. -

I started my preop diet a month early because I was tired of waiting and getting fatter by the minute. No reason you can't, too! -

Side and Stomach sleepers-How long...
LipstickLady replied to Cheer Mama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I slept on my side from day 1 post op with a pillow behind my back for support. I slept on my tummy on day 5 with no pain. Getting up and down was hard as was rolling over, but once I was there, it was a thing of beauty. -
Gold Bond makes a chafing stick that is for sports. I use it under my boobs for martial arts and it is awesome! http://www.drugstore.com/gold-bond-chafing-defense-anti-friction-formula/qxp391906

Buffalo wings are chicken wings in a hot sauce mixture. Now guess what I had my preteen believing about which part of the chicken nuggets came from.

Protein shake, salt and salt. Salt = water retention = weight "gain". I know your food options are limited, but don't mistake water weight for fat.

3 weeks post op and haven't lost any more weight.. :(
LipstickLady replied to hfdwife0608's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only lost 2 pounds from my week two check up until the day before my one month check up. I went 13 days going up and down over those two pounds while exercising and eating 200-300 calories a day. The day after my appointment, I started losing again. Those 13 days sucked donkey arse, but the scale did start moving again, thankfully! -
So hungry but it hurts to eat

Totally normal. I am just over one month post op and feel the same many days of the week! -
But no bullschmidt included.

Scientific explanation, no treading lightly as I am far too fat still: DENIAL.

I'm with you. It's baffling to me to think that those who "don't eat much" and have "medical problems" will have much success with this surgery. This procedure limits your intake, it doesn't solve any other issue. How can this WLS suddenly be a miracle fix to thyroid problems or PCOS if you are already eating the right things in the right quantity. Or, if it works for the first 6 months or so, will all the weight be gained back once your stomach is healed and you can ingest more than a few ounces?

You are a week behind me, then. We will get there. I swear, you have the patience of a 2 year old. Just like me. -
You don't have one with your surgeon? Perhaps you need to talk to your nurse practitioner or whomever gave you the pre-op diet.
