Or perhaps "some people" answer the question asked because they've been told by you in the that they "obviously didn't read your post". No worries, I will not try to help again. Best of luck to you!
  2. I'd suggest not buying too much over Protein shakes, broth, pudding, Jello and popsicles. You really do not know what you will love or hate post op. I spent $75 on different SF drink mixes like Crystal Light and can no longer tolerate the taste of aspartame. I bought all kinds of Soups and protein powders and tuna and canned chicken and it's all sitting there because I couldn't swallow any of it. Buy baby spoons and cocktail forks, Gatorade if it's allowed, real fruit juice to mix with Water and go from there. You will be up and out soon enough and a good long walk around the grocery will be good for you.

30 day, 100% RAW FOOD challenge

EEEK! I need to know where you are shopping. My kids want those darn 4.99/pd cherries and grapes. I feed them pringles instead. Cheaper. JK!
  4. OH MAH GAWD!!! That thing is $300!! Do you know how many tags I can pop with that much money???
  5. My scale weighs about 5 pounds heavier than my doctor's. Drives me nuts but it's always fun to go to the doc!

    The Slider Trap!

I have, but I tracked it. I have had so much trouble eating and I am pretty sure I need to be dilated, that after a good hard work out, I am starving. I make sure I have whole grain crackers pre-measured or a few mini-saltines with a bit of Peanut Butter. I don't want to make that a habit so I now have beef Jerky (1/2 ounce cut into fingernail clipping sized pieces), almonds (1/2 ounce), babybel cheese, mandarin orange cups, etc. in my purse or in the car cooler so that I can grab something that has value. It's a slippery slope and no carbs = little to no cravings for me.

    BURPING! Week out.

I love a good burp now that the pain is gone. It means the food/liquid went down. AHHHHHH!

Why I Post aka That guy's an A Hole

Amen! Being only 9 weeks out, I am *not* a vet but I do recognize that I've made many bad choices along the way or I would never have needed WLS. I was always smart enough to realize my mistakes but stupid enough to make them anyways. No more! I will not enable people who want to put themselves at risk. Even more importantly, I cannot stand by silently knowing that people who are reading but not participating in the discussions are getting bad ideas and advice from the enablers. (I was one of those for almost a year pre-op!) Name calling by strangers on the Internet holds little value and I've been called worse by better in real life. We are all in this together, IMO, and I will happily join Team Assholio before I will patronize bad decisions.

I googled it. It's all there.
  12. I took two Tylenol yesterday because I twisted my back in a swim class and now I am back on liquids for 3 days per my doctor's orders. I think the pills are stuck, or WERE stuck and they irritated my throat so bad they feel as if they are still there. It hurts to yawn, swallowing is horrible and I refuse to eat anything solid because if I sneeze I feel as if something has jabbed me in the throat. Burping is the worst because it feels as if it is pushing on whatever is in there and then it throbs. IT HURTS!! I can get a Protein shake down just fine so the doctor isn't worried yet, but the NP actually told me to go get a milk shake and drink a small amount of it to reduce swelling and possibly push the pill down if it is still in there. Well hell!! That sucked. Let's hope it goes down soon, because my next move is onto hot liquids to dissolve it. Anyone else ever have this?
  13. You are fine. Just follow your doctor's orders to the best of your ability starting now. Every doctor performs the surgery in his or her way and therefore has specific rules that they think keep you the safest. Most doctors are not sadists and do not put you on a liquid diet to punish you, but because he or she feels that this is the best practice. My doctor used the daVinci robot and travels the country teaching other surgeons how to use it. He, too, has performed thousands of surgeries and has never had a leak. I know for a fact that he will not do the surgery if he doesn't feel you are healthy enough for you to be safe during the procedure. There were two women on my floor that were opened up and stitched shut, sleeveless, because he didn't feel it was the right time for them. My diet was two weeks of 2 shakes a day and one meal of high protein, unlimited veggies and no carbs. Like you, I had something I wasn't supposed to have and called my NP the next day. She snickered a bit at me because I went into full confessional mode, and then gave me ideas on what to do to combat my hunger including allowing extra Snacks during the day. I lost a lot pre-op and the doctor was pleased so he operated. I am so happy I stuck to my plan. It showed me that I had the strength to follow through with this decision and be successful. I've got a ways to go, but I have no doubt I can do it.

    Sneezing everytime I eat food?

It could be the sign that you're full. My nose runs every time my tummy is filled to the top.

Post Surgical Diet & eating out

I don't miss it at all! Neither does my debit card.
  17. We have two NUTs in our practice and their information conflicts with the NP whose information conflicts with the surgeons. Fortunately (!?!??!!) I have had so many issues eating, I was forced to go the most conservative route so it wasn't an issue.

    When can i eat?

Are you taking Prilosec or something similar? A lot of that hunger feeling could be caused by acid reflux. I know it made a big difference for me when I finally started taking it as prescribed.

    When can i eat?

This was my original post in this thread and I was in no way trying to be rude or condescending yet I am being called a bitc...? I've been called worse by better and by no means does a stranger on the internet's opinion of me affect me in the least. I refuse to give someone permission to do something that may possibly cause them physical harm just because that's what they want to hear. If you don't want to hear an answer, don't ask the question. If you are looking for a specific answer, say so up front so those who would rather tell you the TRUTH skip on to the next topic. That said, I probably wouldn't skip it anyways because there are a lot of people here reading that have not yet had surgery and they should know the RIGHT answer to a question they may not have asked yet. I won't apologize for speaking truth, nor will I stoop to name calling and profanity. That's just silly nonsense.
  20. I am 9 weeks out and on some days I can eat 1/2 cup and some days I can eat a few tablespoons. It's weird. Good news? I really don't want more after the first bite or two physically, even if I want it mentally. It's uncomfortable when I eat too much so I just don't eat more.

    When can i eat?

When I find something ridiculously funny, I snort. You don't? How sad!

    When can i eat?

Is that a nah-nee-nah-nee boo boo? SNORT!! Are wontons pureed?

    food stuck in throat

Yup. I am almost 9 weeks out and I still have issues. I made the switch to baby utensils, I take a bite and then walk around the living room and then chat with the family. Repeat for maybe 6-8 bites and done. I was close to endoscopy and possible dilation when I figured out that my bites were too big and I was eating too fast. I do think I have a narrower esophagus than I should and dilation would probably be a good idea, but I am kind of happy that I have the restriction I do. The only problem is that I am still sip sip sipping and with these temps and the amount of exercise I am doing, I really want to chug Water.
