Huge PRE-Vacation NSV!
LipstickLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I've always enjoyed my vacations with my family and have never felt self concious in my suit. (Maybe because I swim all the time and/or we don't know anyone there anyways?) I'm just excited to know that I can now walk into a shop and buy something new and it will fit! Plus, I won't have to pay $3 extra for a XXL t-shirt at the tourist traps! -

Warning gross poo question
LipstickLady replied to snochick2005's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So normal. My kids loved my belly noises, my dog, not so much. She actually barked at my tummy. It goes away after a few weeks. Water poo is also the norm. I am 11 weeks out and still have watery explosions. My best words of advice? Never trust a fart. -
Our GNCs are run by muscle heads who do little more than grunt and flex in whatever shiny surface they pass by. I lose brain cells upon entering the store, I swear.

Hmmm... I wonder if a dirty martini would do the same? Ha!

Oh! I'll check ours. Thanks.

Good for you!

How you doin? -
The VS make me so mad. They are the only store I've ever visited that treated me like a third class citizen when I was at my fattest, helping everyone else while helping me, basically putting me off with each new customer who came in, answering the phone and staying on it, etc. Now that I look more normal, I have their attention. Hmph. If I could get my OH YEAH bars else where, I would. Too hot for mail order...

Thanks! I am 42. Funny thing. I spent all this year thinking I was 42 when I was 41, so I really am repeating a year! -
Yes, yes she does...

And because it's my birthday, can we ask every adult NOT to use "text talk" for the next 24 hours? Seriously, once you are over the age of 16, is it so hard to type your words out?

I am totally the grammar police, I just stop myself from hitting the post button once I've ranted about it.

Controversial - The evaluation of before and after. Healthier by definition, but does everyone who is VSG'd really 'look' better?
LipstickLady replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've never cared about other people's opinion of me and clothing size means nothing. When *I* love the way I look, when I can do all the things I want to do without feeling unhealthy, when I can shop in any store I walk into and when I don't look fat on film next to my friends who are of similar height and have what I now see as a great body size, I will be happy. -
Im getting cold feet

How many times have you tried this before and lost/maintained that loss? Can you do it yourself? -

I am 5'2.5" and a healthy weight for me is tops 135. At that weight, I would be a size 0 or 2 with my build and at that size, I was always sickly looking. I have an hourglass figure and big old tatas and the last time I lost weight (WWs), I got to a size 8/10 at 175. My goal is 160 and my stretch goal is 150, which is still considered overweight. Oh the fluck well. I am very active, I do martial arts, kickboxing, I swim, kayak, paddle board, etc. I am built like the Italian side of my family, short and muscular and that's OK with me. I want my muscles to show, but more importantly, I want them to exist and they wouldn't in the 130s. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me as I am only 11 weeks out now. (Sixty pounds down and from a snug 20W to a loose 16R or a well fitting 14R.) The goals I set are flexible because I am 41, I have had two kids since the last time I was in the 160s and I have no idea what that will look like. I can say, I will happily take too slender over the fattest mom in the room. I can't do that ever again. -
I've been married for almost twenty years so I've been out of the dating scene for a long time but I run across the same situation with my work. I do a lot "wooing" of perspectives and it usually involves food. Now, instead, I take them for coffee and dessert (skipping the dessert), frozen yogurt, or to walk around a community event to chat. Why not do something active instead? I don't think you need to spill your guts (or lack thereof) when you first meet, personally. How exciting for you! I'm sure you will find the right match for you!

LipstickLady replied to taylormarie421's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh....coffee.... I haven't tried that yet. MMMmmm... I am so happy! I can't believe how easy/hard this has been but it's been worth every minute. I can do things I haven't done in years and I'm not afraid to (literally) work my ass off at my martial arts school, at kickboxing, at the pool. AND!!! I am no longer afraid to go into the dressing room with an armful of pretty clothes because damage WILL BE DONE to my debit card. WOOOT!! -
I waited about 5 days. My doctor's words were that he didn't operate "down there" so whenever I was ready.
