Gratuitous ONEDERLAND Post!
LipstickLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thanks all!! I'm excited. Oddly, I've only had four people notice my weight loss up till today. Really??? Sixty pounds lost and no one can see it? Then today, I had four random people ask me about it saying they REALLY see a big difference. Can I get a WHAT!! WHAT!!! ??? -
Car accident 2 weeks after surgery - broken leg
LipstickLady replied to pomeerin's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Swim! Any water activity, really. -
Me! They look kind of like melted candle wax but I am only 12 weeks out and I am hoping they tighten up some. No biggie if they don't. I'd rather have weird thighs than the big fat asss I've been toting around for so long!

12 weeks out and I can't get either in yet. Just do your best!

Well, I guess this is going to be my gastric sleeve story.

Good for you and welcome! -
Thirsty ALL the time!
LipstickLady replied to conemjo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gatorade! Water it down if you want, but on those days where I can't get over the thirst, I put down 12 oz and feel much better. I am 12 weeks out and experience the same as you. I can't get in as much liquid as you yet! Great job! -
Extra butter = no carbs.

Correct. Everyone knows it's popcorn not Cheetos.

Are we talking length or girth?

My kids love the Oh Yeah bars. I will be buying them for everyone's lunch in September. They have so little time to eat at school that these would be perfect.
-
Sing it, sister! I work from home so I keep all my Protein bars, nuts, Jerky, etc. in my office. My cold foods are in the bottom drawer of the fridge and everyone knows no touchy. It's getting better now that I am farther out and can find more things to eat. My two teens know they can have anything they want, they just can't have the LAST one. My husband, on the other hand, deserves a regular b***h slapping.

If you have to ask, I think you know the answer.

I'm happy.

Is the sleeve really right for me?

Are you diabetic? If so, that's a major reason to have bypass. Look for a second opinion! You deserve that much... -
3 weeks out and I can't stop eating!
LipstickLady replied to vsginkc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope. I didn't. I wanted to be as healthy as I could be on that surgery table so I started my preop at one month out instead of the two weeks my surgeon required. Why put on more weight to be lost post op? -
Very concerned about success and being a stress eater.
LipstickLady replied to dollyhazel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Find an activity you love and replace eating with it. I can't even get my protein/liquid requirements in 11 weeks out so mass eating isn't an issue for me. Hopefully it won't be for you either. I've replaced my nervous eating with kickboxing. It's a great thing! -
Great balls of burning...hunger?

I take prescription Prevacid. It is a great aide! -

Cutting food vs. biting into it?
LipstickLady replied to DallasSleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been using kitchen shears! I cut my food into dime sized bits and eat with a cocktail fork. I suck at biting into things. My bites are far too big still. -
Depressed, disappointed, regretful...

Time. Give it time. I thought life sucked through week 4 but then everything turned around. You will get better! -
Brother's Wedding - To Go or Not To Go, That is THE Question!

Second guessing
LipstickLady replied to Mrs.FullerRN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery 11 weeks ago at the age of 41. I was fat, but very active, had perfect blood pressure, no aches, pains and needed no meds for anything other than seizures due to previous brain surgery (totally unrelated to weight). Other than physical appearance, I had no immediate need to have surgery which is exactly why I did it. Why wait until my back was bad, my knees were shot, I needed to control my sugar with pills? Why not go into surgery as healthy as possible to avoid further complications? Only you can decide when and if you are ready. Once you've exhausted all other options and have tried everything, this is a great solution. It's hard work, weight doesn't just magically disappear, your entire life is changed drastically but for me, it's worth it. Sixty one pounds down and life is great. -
Yup. It will get better! My husband shouts out "It went down!" every time I burp in celebration. Ahhhhh!

Huge PRE-Vacation NSV!
LipstickLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I've always had an over inflated sense of self. Perhaps that's why I allowed myself to get so over inflated! -
Packing for vacation and usually I am a stress case because, being a short fat girl, it's almost impossible to walk into a store and find an outfit if you forget something, especially as our vacation home is in a small beach town with only one department store. This go around, I know that I can walk into the stores and buy tops or PJs or a bathing suit or GASP!!! pants and not even be the biggest size in the store. I AM SO EXCITED!
