    "Good" Fast Food?

Wawa is a staple! My favorite. They have boiled eggs, fruit, and the best coffee. Sigh.... I've not had coffee since I started my pre op diet.

    "Good" Fast Food?

I am in my car all the time, too. I always have jerky, almonds, protein bars, string cheese and/or pumpkin seeds with me, too. I still can't eat much nor do I want to, but these are staples for me.

What do you eat on days when nothing looks good?

Beef jerky, OH YEAH bars, greek yogurt, babybel cheese wheels and protein shakes blended with ice and a bit of fruit.
  8. I am one that has only told my immediate family, my parents, a few of my work team members that I am very close to and my best girl friends. I haven't announced it on FB, nor have I told any casual acquaintances, clients, in laws... I'm not ashamed, it's simply none of their business. Like you, I've tried everything and I've been pretty darn successful losing weight many times. I've not been successful keeping it off. I'm eating right, I am making good choices, I am exercising every day, I am reading food labels, I am tracking obsessively, I am researching healthy alternatives to recipes, and most importantly, I am looking at food with a MENTALLY healthier attitude. I am being proactive about my health. I am making sure I don't develop diabetes, I am getting fit before my back, knees, hips and feet hurt. I am taking care of my blood pressure before I need meds. I am doing everything I need to do to get healthier and stay that way, I am simply doing it with a tool to help me get where I need to be more quickly and efficiently. I own my own business and something I teach my team is exactly what I am implementing with my WLS. I am working smarter, I am using all my resources and I am getting results.
  9. I've been to quite a few restaurants that have them on the appetizer menu. I order them as my dinner. Usually costs about $3. AWESOME!
  10. I was allowed pudding week 1 post op but I never attempted a full cup. My suggestion would be to only eat half for awhile even if you CAN eat a full cup. No reason to push to your limit, especially if you don't want it. Pudding is not very nutritious unless you are adding protein powder, so save the room you have for something you need.
  11. I prefer them steamed with a bit of garlic, olive oil, cracked pepper and sea salt. YUM!
  12. You aren't doing it on your own? Who is doing it for you?

I call "drinking 64 oz water" BS

91 oz a day will kill you? Crap!!!! Am I in heaven or am I in hell, cuz girl, before surgery I drank at least 120 oz a day EVERY DAY for the last 5-6 years, so days more. My WWs leader told me to drink half your body weight in ounces of water and I sure as heck didn't go into this weighing 128 pounds.

I call "drinking 64 oz water" BS

I'm going to have to agree with the posters above. The more I drink, the more I lose. That was true with WWs, that was true with South Beach, that is true with VSG. My body likes the fluids, unfortunately, my new sleeve doesn't. It's really hot where I live, I exercise every day and I need the fluids but I can't get them in yet. If you are thirsty, that is your body telling you that you are already dehydrated. Personally, I like to stay ahead of the game. Being hydrated also means better skin elasticity, and that's something I really need. Water poisoning is unlikely to occur in most adults unless they are consuming about 2 gallons an hour. I can't even get one gallon in in a day! If less fluids work for you, that's great! I wish I was in your shoes, but I need the fluids and it's a constant struggle for me. UGH!

    Does it really matter?

Oh goodness! I wasn't making that comparison at all! I was simply stating that I've not seen or felt what you described in your OP on this forum or in my personal life. I was just poking a bit of fun at the Candyland I live in because I usually float through my days in a giddy little universe all of my own. Don't get me wrong, I have my share of moments, but I rarely take things personally, especially when it's a stranger on the Internet that's acting a fool.
  17. ... loss, but NO! At least I didn't wake up to a GAIN for the first time in 20 or so years! And next year on my birthday? I plan on being at goal! I love love love my sleeve.
  18. Who goes on vacation weighing 202.8, leaves the scale at home, imbibes in a bit too much wine and pineapple rum, grazes a little on dry Snacks, steals a few bites of ice cream and still loses 3.4 pounds, now weighing in at 199.4? This girl right here! Now I am back to tracking, back to the exercise routine and determined to loosen up these size 14s I could button today. (Ignore the screaming wedgie in the back, I will not be wearing these quite yet.) Wooooot!

Am I in the honeymoon stage?

Good for you! You made me smile just reading about yours! And yes, I feel the same way three months out.

    I must be a freak..

YAY YOU!!!! You are going to do great. I was supposed to have my surgery in mid April but my doctor dropped the ball in submitting my papers so I was pushed back to May 16. I started my pre-op diet on my original surgery date because I was SO freaking anxious to get to a healthy weight. You can do it!!

    Does it really matter?

I must be fortunate enough to live in a world of rainbows and unicorns! I've never once thought of this forum in this manner nor have I ever felt "judged, ridiculed, discriminated against, our spirits crushed because of our (my) weight". On a happier note, I went to a consignment store today and bought 4 pairs of size 14 capris and 5 size large tops today. I also weighed in at 197.5 at my three month follow up today, 2 pounds less than my home scale and I was fully dressed instead of buck nekky. WOOOT WOOOT!! Oh sorry...got side tracked by my skittle pooping ponies.

Once you are up and walking the gas will get moving and the pain should stop. Nothing was better than walking out a toot and I announced each one with great joy and relief!

how many oz of cooked fish can you eat post op?

I am 12 weeks out and can eat about 2-3 oz of seafood. I do eat soup but it fills me up too quickly to get much in so it's not the best choice for me. Perhaps enjoying the content and straining the broth would be more ideal.
