    "Good" Fast Food?

I love the insides of a steak and cheese from Jersey Mikes or anywhere else! Ask them to cook it with no or minimal oil. They will! Most will serve it breadless over salad, too.

Things I will NOT miss about being fat.

Oh em gee! My biggest peeve about WWs meetings was how close they put those little chairs to each other. I hated when my thighs were pressed up against a total stranger's. Did they not realize that 99% of the people there are fat?

Did they really grow an inch with each 25 pounds lost?

    Rice

You aren't on soft foods long enough to subject yourself to that. Seriously.

    Rice

I posted this yesterday: A friend of mine who also had VSG posted a picture of the riceless sushi she was brilliant enough to order, and in turn, I made it (kind of) at home myself. My mouth and my sleeve are SINGING. I love love love spicy crab rolls and haven't had one since March. I googled the recipe and every one was similar. Copied from a website: Here’s what you need, for 2/3 cup or so of salad (since it’s mayo-based you don’t need to eat a ton of it): 1 scallion 2 tablespoons mayo sriracha chili sauce, to taste 6 – 8 oz imitation crab sticks or flakes That’s it! These are cheap and widely available ingredients. I use Japanese mayo, which has slightly more vinegar than American mayonnaise. Use any kind you like, though! I don’t know why imitation crab is often found in sushi, but it is, here and in Japan. Don’t be afraid of it! It’s made mostly of white fish and tastes super delicious. If you do not like spicy, leave out the sriracha and it will still be yummy. As it is, I recommend making it without and adding a few drops at a time since we cannot drink while we eat and too hot is miserable. I added extra scallions because I love them. Next time, I will also add baby salad shrimp for more texture as well. I pitted and quartered an avocado, sprinkled it with lemon juice and stuffed the hole with my crab salad. It was DELICIOUS. I am so stinking happy with this new meal option. It's all Protein and it's tasty. How can you go wrong?

    Rice

Uhhmmmmm. Nope. Riceless sushi. Like crab salad rolls, Ca rolls, etc. They will just wrap the fillings in seaweed (and put a lot more in there) and skip the rice.

    Rice

A friend of mine ordered sushi with no rice. Brilliant! That's what I am going to do. I've had no rice yet and I love it, so I am not going there.

Not as bad as i thought

My nurse actually TOLD me to go to KFC and buy mashed taters and gravy on my way home from my three week appointment when she released me to mushies. She said not to make a habit, but that they would taste great after all the sweet shakes and it would give me an idea of how much I could eat. They are low fat and with gravy, very loose. Check with your doctor, though!

    A helpful hint!

:faint: I am not sure that advocating fraudulant activity is a a "helpful" hint. I personally think you are toeing the line of theft because those clothes can no longer be sold as new, you are using them for FREE and then the retailer is losing out because they have dispose of them. Are you telling the retailer WHY you are returning them? If not, do you think they would approve of your actions? A helpful hint would be going to a consignment shop to buy clothes and then selling them back.

Things I will NOT miss about being fat.

Oh! I've got another! Catching a glimpse of myself in a window or mirror while out and thinking that fatty is wearing my same outfit and then realizing...

    When?

Eat that? On purpose? Blurrrrrp! I was allowed on my puréed foods, but no way in HE double hockey sticks would I. Ha! Not a fan, can you tell?
  18. I know, right? Why didn't I think of that?
  19. It took about 3-4 weeks. My kids loved the sound effects while they lasted. The puppy, not so much.

    I am embarrassed

I simply tell people that I've gone to a doctor (truth), I'm eating high protein/low carb (truth), exercising more (truth) and that I've cut out the "bad" stuff from my diet (SO TRUE!! I cut out my tummy!).

    Fantasy land

I am so excited for you!! Congratulations.
  23. You are five days out, so no, you do not get it. You are absolutely correct about your ability to eat less resulting in weight loss. Unfortunately, that goes away. The farther out you get, the more you can eat and the more of a variety you can eat. Slider foods don't stick and you can/will find yourself grazing all day, consuming far more calories than you should, hindering weight loss. I remember sitting where you are knowing I would NEVER be able to eat much again. I was wrong.
  24. I am almost four months out as well and I've hit a few rough Patches. I found that when I do not take my acid blocker, I am "starving" all day. It's the acid talking. As soon as I take one, I feel much better and the cravings are much more manageable. Are you taking a PPI? Are you tracking everything you eat on something like myfitnesspal? Are you pre-planning meals? Most importantly, are you eating the same things over and over or are you finding new, more interesting things to eat? Are you getting in all your fluids and Protein? I find that when I go back to the basics of protein first, veggies next, complex carbs last, I rarely get to the carbs. When I eat the protein first, I am fuller faster and longer. Plan, track, explore dietary options and follow your nutritional guidelines. You can get back on track.
