It looks great! It's SO FREAKING WEIRD not to have a shirt covering your whole ass and still look good, isn't it? EEEEEEK! I stare at myself all the time, not in vanity, but in wonderment. GOOD FOR YOU!

Does anyone feel like this is just TOO good?
LipstickLady replied to Mrs.RRn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My recovery hasn't been perfect and I still have my moments of sliming, vomiting, inability to swallow food or liquid and guess what!?!?! IT'S STILL TOO FREAKING GOOD TO BE TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Not on mine, either. Some people can, though. so I had to throw that out there!
-
I'll know when I get there!

It depends on if the thickness is because of the ice (which will melt) or the content (like berries, bananas, etc.). If it will go through a strainer at room temp, it's fine.

What if I can't 'do' puree?
LipstickLady replied to Smile!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ate cream soups, refried Beans, chicken/tuna/ham/seafood salad, yogurt, mashed taters, grated cheese, guacamole, hummus, soft scrambled eggs, applesauce... You can find things, this phase is short and you won't want much anyways, so... -
I'm so hungry! 7 weeks post-op
LipstickLady replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My PPIs solvved my "hunger". I didn't feel acidy at all, just HUNGRY. For me, a glass of milk or a drink will cure it most of the time, too. At four months out, I am consuming about 500-700 calories a day and about 45 gr of Protein. Babybel cheeses are an awesome snack for your stage and filling! -
If you are good with looking older than you are, you must be in your early 20s. HA! 24?

The frustration of it all
LipstickLady replied to calicojack42's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Patience, my friend. You will get there. I had my first salad at about 3.5 months out and it was the best thing I ever put in my mouth. I could only eat 1/3 of a Panera 1/2 salad, but it was delicious and very satisfying. I had A LOT of trouble moving through the food stages. I was stuck on liquids for three weeks and then pureed/mushies for three more. I moved to soft at 6 weeks, but threw it all up almost every time. If I could hold 2 ounces, I was doing fabulous. At my three month mark, things really opened up and my world changed. You are far too close to a new life to regret it!! Take it one day at a time and look for recipes that you will enjoy. The fruits and veggies will come. More importantly, good health will come and you will be so happy! -
At four months out, I eat 2 slices of bacon almost every morning with my sunny side up egg. I buy center cut bacon that is as lean as you are going to get and enjoy every bite. Totally worth it.

Bacon is not soft. If it's not cooked crispy, it can be very stringy and that can get hung up in your sleeve. Wait.

help I need solutions to solving my chocolate cravings
LipstickLady replied to joanne2013's topic in Food and Nutrition
My go to chocolate foods are Oh Yeah Protein bars (just like Snickers!), Starbucks skinny mocha frappacinos (130 calories), Fiber One chocolate chip Cookies (microwave for 20 seconds - yum), EAS carb advantage Protein shakes with added banana, ice and NF dried milk (23 grams protein), or if I need just a bit of chocolate that isn't meal sized, a Hershey Kiss. Sweets did not make me fat, so I can eat just one or two. I cannot get myself any leeway on salty carbs, though. That's my downfall. -
You are dehydrated! I did the Gatorade by the bed over Water because it stuck longer. Work up to more liquids during the day and lower your salt if you can.

Food Funerals?
LipstickLady replied to Disabledaccount's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No food funeral here. I wanted to be as healthy as possible going in to surgery AND I was so anxious to start losing, I actually started my pre-op a month before my sleeve instead of the two weeks the doctor asked for. -
I hope you have a WONDERFUL time.

Girl...you need to read more then.

I don't think it's WEIRD, but I do think it's extreme. You are going to be so thrilled with your changing self, you are going to want to go out and let the world see you!! It's an amazing progression as your world seems to get BIGGER as you get smaller. Your car seat, aisles, bathroom stalls, changing rooms, seat belts...just about everything and it's wonderful to measure that progress as you go. Your sleeve is going to send you on a wonderful JOURNEY and you should Celebrate every step, not just the final destination of your goal weight. I encourage you to enjoy your ride through every single day. My concern would be if you do not lose as quickly as you are dreaming about. That scale doesn't always budge even when those inches do. I would hate for you to think that you are going to do a big reveal in 3 months and the number you have decided on takes 4, 5, 6... Why miss out on that much of your life while you wait? You never know what tomorrow will bring, who you will meet, who you might lose, so why miss out on a minute of it? Go out there and SHINE!!!

I am producing metal objects
LipstickLady replied to Patti K's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eeeeeek! I wouldn't wait! -
One bite too many some days, one bite of the wrong thing maybe, not enough chewing, or my sleeve is just feeling ornery.
-
I slime alllll the time. If only a bit comes up, I consume nothing for hours. If it all comes out, I start liquids in 30 minutes or so.
