My big fat bucket list
LipstickLady replied to KristieAtkinson's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Great list! I did a mud run on Saturday and was actually able to haul my fat ass up and over all the obstacles without getting winded! SO MUCH FUN. -

I really don't consider Coke Zero "cheating" because it has no calories and it's a liquid. I do realize it's a terrible concoction of chemicals, the acid in it is bad for me, the artificial sweeteners can make me crave more carbs and the carbonation fills me up too much, but as far as a bad choice numerically, it's not. The fish sticks. maybe? I bought reduced fat, whole fillet and ate 1/2 a serving size for less than 200 calories. They were actually a good choice as far as protein is concerned and best of all, something different. Not justifying, just clarifying. I do "cheat" occasionally, usually by sneaking a mini kit kat from the kids' bags of deliciousness or a few chips from the bag but overall, I stick to high protein, low carb, and I don't worry too much about fat -- that just sort of follows. I am generally under 800 calories and while I am not quite meeting my protein goals yet, I am getting better. I've been in a stall for almost a month, staying between 192 and 188, so I don't know how good I'm doing as far as weight loss, but that said, I am doing better than I ever have as far as aggravation. My pants are getting looser despite the non-budging number, I am exercising more than ever and I am not freaking out by the scale even though I (bad girl!!!) weigh every day. If I stayed where I am forever, I am in a much happier place in loose size 14s and large tops over where I was in tight 20s and 2x tops. I would like to lose 30-40 more and I know I will get there eventually, but if I don't, I am healthy, I am active and I just did a 5k mud run complete with huge obstacles to haul my chubby ass up and over and never got winded. Oh gosh...you didn't ask for all that, did you? HA! What do I eat? Usually an egg and 2 pieces of bacon or a piece of turkey sausage in the am. $2 worth of salad fixings off the grocery salad bar for lunch (my NUT had the best advice, she said, don't get salad, you will get too full, get the toppings only and you get the tastes you want and some protein, too!), and lean meat for dinner. I snack on beef jerky, OH YEAH bars, and some protein chips I got at bariatric direct. My diet is boring, but good enough for now. If you want $20 off your first order from bariatric direct you can follow this link: https://www.bariatricchoice.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/113387/ I got some awesome stuff in the mail last week. The chips are like pop chips but with lots of protein and they solve my salty/crunchy need. -
Ha! Missed the names because I replied without reading. My name is Jennett.

It works body wraps

The cream you rub on has caffeine in it, which is a diuretic. It temporarily shrinks your fat cells because they lose water. When you drink water, your fat cells fill back up and poof, you are chubby again! -

I'm in for 150!!

Oh gawd no! I took all the miles my fitbit logged for the month and added them. I had a weekend of 5ks and junk so I logged in 23 miles Friday-Sunday. Last 12 today just to make it happen. Next month I will do it over the month.
-
So, I cut out of work early (my boss is awesome, and yes, i am self employed) and I went to the gym. I did 10 miles on the bike, 2 miles walking and I hit 100 miles. Next month I promise to join in more than three days before the end of the month and be my over achieving self. I will even do some of BTB's miles for him.
-
Woooot! That's great to hear! I say we should divvy up his miles in October and do them for him.

I'd be a scarcer, too, but I scarfed it. Don't see the ability to learn anywhere in sight.

Would it be a bad idea if my support person was my 13 yr old son?
LipstickLady replied to atlchick's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My husband took me to the hospital, they wheeled me back and he went to work. My mom stayed against my wishes and I love her, but I really wanted to be alone after. Hubby visited once on his way home to our kids, which was nice, but unnecessary. I could get my own Water (which I wanted none of) and I spent all my time walking the halls or getting poked by nurses. You really don't need anyone. Save the money and the stress. -

I would go alone before putting that responsibility on my 13 or 15 year old. Too many things would be running through my imagination about what could go wrong that would affect my baby. I agree with all of the above. -
After today I am at 88.3 for the month. Wonder how I can squeeze in 12 miles tomorrow. Hmmmm.....

Your yogurt: 160 calories, 11 grams Protein, 2.3 grams fat, 19 sugar, 20 carbs. I'd personally go with a lower cal version . Dannon makes a light and fit, double protein blended (including the coconut) with 80 cals, 0 fat, 9 carbs, 7 sugar and 12 protein. It's delicious. That said, if you are under calories and carbs and you love this particular yogurt, eat it. It's fine.

I made the mistake of buying SF Ocean Spray packs on amazon pre-op. I now have about 450 packets that I finde undrinkable. My family glares at me every time I tell them to finish them up. HA! I need to find the singles before I will buy them in mass quantities again. Thank you, though! -
Awwww....thanks.

WOW!! You both look great! Congratulations. -
Welcome! It's a wonderful journey!

Sounds fine! It's ok to have some fat in your diet. You need it and there are much worse ways of getting it in than in a yummy greek yogurt.

I don't care for Powerade Zero and my biggest issue is that I don't like anything weird flavored. I will drink orange or fruit punch and that's about it. Any of these new fangled strawberry/kiwi/watermelon/mango/berry/funky ass fruit flavored combos make me want to gag. I hope water will appeal to me again soon. I used to chug at least 120oz a day and I miss it. -

I don't feel bad about the Coke Zero or the straw. I've been using a straw from the beginning with no problem, it's the only way I will get my fluids in. As for the Coke Zero, I know it's bad for me and I know I should drink almost anything else, but until I find something I can tolerate, it is what it is. Crystal Light makes me gag as does tea. I can drink water after a workout but only a little. I drink it whenever I can, but if it was my only liquid, I would barely hit 16 oz a day. I do drink caffeine free Coke Zero, so that's slightly better I guess. The only other liquid I can really tolerate well is Gatorade and I don't mean of the G2 variety. That said, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE ELSE DRINK IT. -
I know I didn't start at the beginning of the month, but I did go back and add up my fitbit days (minus the three I forgot it) and I've done 82.29 miles through yesterday!! I am going for 150 in November.
