    Weird noises

Normal. Mine lasted far past the six month mark. Kids found it hysterical at meal time. Me? Not so much.

    Count down on...

You can totally do this!!! Good for you.

Hello from an oldie but goodie

I didn't talk him into it. I just asked him to take a look.
  4. I eat about 1/2 cup at a sitting. Some days I eat more than others and yes, I can tolerate meats most of the time. Food repulsed me for so long, I've gotten to the point where I eat what I love but only when I feel like it instead of eating just to eat. Yes, you are being a pessimist. That's easy, though, with all the hormones and big life changes. It will get better. Promise.

Hello from an oldie but goodie

Well then....let's see if all three of her accounts were removed.
  6. I was on mushies through week 6 and rarely ate more than a tablespoon at a time. I was on soft through month three and rarely got 1/4 cup down in a sitting. I still have serious restriction at 3.5 years out and I'm happy about it.

Hello from an oldie but goodie

Ah. I didn't put it together with you. Tells you how much I have you on my mind.
  8. Yes! Everytime i drink, my stomach.rumbles and makes a weird loud noise. Then my chest tightens a bit and i think the gas travels to my chest and shoulder.. thank you for.sharing your experienceSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using the BariatricPal App Absolutely normal on the noises. My family had a ball listening to me gurgle at meal times.
  9. @@tenseintexas Have you talked to your doc about it? At your stage, I could only get down Gatorade and G2/crystal light/tea/plain Water made me ill. I was allowed to dilute Gatorade 50/50 with water and that worked beautifully!

Hello from an oldie but goodie

I live in Virginia. DC is a great area for theatre and museums! Who in the world are you speaking so rudely to? And in such a nice thread?
  11. MexItalian here. I eat traditional Mexican dishes almost daily. It's a brief period of time to give up on SOME of your favorites. Many dishes can be adapted to meet the dietary criteria but those that can't won't disappear once you are cleared for all foods. You don't want to keep eating the same foods that got you to WLS in the first place, do you? I know I didn't.

No POOP 5 days post op

I didn't poo for 13 days. THIRTEEN. When I finally did, the sun shined a little brighter, the sky looked a little bluer and the birds chirped a little louder. It was an amazing day I'll never forget. Stool softeners are a small miracle on earth. Just sayin!

Hello from an oldie but goodie

Welcome from a city girl who doesn't do dirt, or cows. I love cheese, though, and that's dairy. Close enough?
  14. @@erp Yup! 100% on the money from a VET standpoint.

    Ideas, please?

Broccoli is rough on a new tummy. For constipation, try good old fashioned Metamucil. I definitely wouldn't cut down on the Protein because you need that to maintain muscle mass and to promote great healing, but that's just MY opinion. Steamed spinach has a lot of Fiber and is much easier to digest. Less filling, too. You might want to incorporate more healthy fats to help ease things out, if you know what I'm saying. Olive oil, avocado, full fat cheese. Beans are a great source of fiber and protein so they are definitely a win. Apples if you can have them, but I'd only recommend 1/2 a day max. The more you drink, the easier you will poo, but a stool softener is not something to be ignored, for sure. Good luck!

    Breakfast anyone?

For ME, cereal and milk was always a favorite. I was a multi-grain cheerios kind of girl and like more milk than cereal. I can't eat it now. Eating and then drinking makes me immediately urp and cereal and milk feels much like the same as do broth based Soups. I'm a bit farther out than this conversation, but I do have a stricture so while I can eat normal foods, they often get stuck so I prefer to eat soft and mushy to this day. Refried Beans and cheese is a great Breakfast, especially with a bit of sour cream. Served with a soft scrambled egg and hot sauce? Heaven. I don't feel the need to eat traditional meals at traditional times, so I often eat the insides of a pot pie, crustless quiche, seafood salad, cheese sticks, spam (gross but true!), meatball with mozzarella... Lots of great choices. You'll get there.
  17. "Whit flag"? "Surrender"? Dramatic much? Girl, if you let someone's recount of their actual experience stress you out before you've even started, you're in for a long haul when post surgical hormones start surging. I wish you well. why am I not surprised to receive one more snide remark from you? So you really wish me well or was that sarcasm too? I mean I was taking dramatic license in waving the white flag...I was trying to be a little funny..like let bygones be bygones? But if course you had to take that and rip it up to just cause I have a different opinion from you And no, as a ptsd survivor, this is not "all" it takes to stress me out however, bc of my anxious nature, not that you care, it doesn't take much to put me on edge and since I have surgery around the corner, I was just stating that.... I was only trying to make peace and I had hoped that would be kindly accepted, not poked at.. Why am I not surprised that I am not allowed to wish you well without being accused of sarcasm? You've twisted my words from the very beginning of this thread and you will until you have the very last word. So, have at it. I have no desire to take that away from you. Are you familiar with how to block people? Go up to your name in the top right corner, click manage ignore preferences and add my name. You won't see another one of my posts unless you look for it. I have a feeling that simple action will relieve a lot of your stress. Again. I sincerely wish you well.

    One odd fact about you

So y'all know I'm a certified martial arts instructor and survived a lemon sized brain tumor, but did you know... Wait for it.... Wait for it... I'm a direct descendent of one the original Alvin and the Chipmunks characters.

    Drinking?

:faint: She didn't mean get hammered, and she wasn't advocating it; she was just stating that medically, it wouldn't hurt anything. I think my story speaks for itself that I am super serious about my weight loss journey. My partner has busted his behind to earn this master's degree, and if he wants me take a sip or two of some no-carb libation while we are in 5 different countries in southeast Asia, I think I can do that without disrupting my journey in any way. Absolutely! Do your thing! I just can't imagine being given the nod for alcohol a month out. My stomach wasn't even fully healed yet.
