The annoying new habits that came to be with my sleeve...
LipstickLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Oh, and I LOVE squeezing down the aisle behind someone or around a box or a buggie. I used to walk all the way around because I wouldn't fit. Now I **TRY** to get stuck in smaller places because I know I won't! -
Insomnia Post-op?
LipstickLady replied to donkey booty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a few weeks of this, myself. I asked my doctor about it and she said it's VERY normal and that I would go back to normal after a month or so. She was right! I did take Tylenol PM (with her permission) on the days I was VERY exhausted and couldn't sleep to help myself out. The sleepless nights were gone by month two or so. You will get there!! -
Why do OhYeah! protein bars have to be so effing delicious
LipstickLady replied to Globetrotter's topic in Rants & Raves
I eat Oh Yeah bars almost daily and they are filling and delicious, most having 15-20 grams of Protein and are around 180 calories. The one mentioned is a double sized bar so make sure you are consuming the grab and go size.. They do taste more like candy than Protein Bars, but they are the only ones I can tolerate and I've done really well with them. Quest bars make me want to hurl, unfortunately. -

REGRETTING.....
LipstickLady replied to NeuroSurgNurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Levsin. My tummy rejected everything. This helped me keep it down. I only drank Gatorade for a few months, too. The sugar and calories were fine as that was all I could really tolerate in liquids. I had to drink it room temperature and I could only consume a few sips at a time but I would get down 8 oz over a few hours. It sucked, but it worked. -
REGRETTING.....
LipstickLady replied to NeuroSurgNurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same issue, but I was given Levsin (sp?) for cramping along with my anti-nausea meds. It took me about 2 months to come off both but it was SO SO SO worth it. SO WORTH IT. -
Check this out if you're new to the sleeve ans having regrets!

My height may play the factor in which procedure I have....=/
LipstickLady replied to native_brunette's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5'2.5" and my sleeve is awesome. 82 pounds down at 5 months out. One of my favorite sleeved people that I am on a FB group with is just at 5' and she hit 100 pounds lost yesterday or the day before. I call phooey on your doctor. Go with what you feel better about and if he isn't comfortable doing it, find someone who is. -
I couldn't do a harder cooked white for a long time. In fact, I am just five months and the white of a hard boiled egg still sticks sometimes. I can do an over easy egg now, but that's new to me.

Gorgeous! -
Try a very soft scramble. They should be shiny and wet looking not dry a crumbly. Add skim milk to the them when you whisk them to loosen them up a bit. You can add a bit if cheese, too! Refried beans are good at your stage as is hummus, Greek yogurt, guacamole, cream soups...

AKA... To go in search of the answer one WANTS to hear instead of the answer many EXPERIENCED and historically SUPPORTIVE people who have taken the time to thoughtfully compose from experience. Great idea! -

It's my thought that you are working yourself up into a frustrated fury and while it's understandable emotionally, it's a tad premature. You lost a ton of weight pre-op and that's going to slow your weight loss after. You are also approaching that three month stall period. I "only" lost 20 pounds pre-op and I hit my three month stall at about 2.5 months. It lasted 28 days and in that time I fluctuated up and down by about 5 pounds. In that month, I lost 3 pounds but my body size continued to shrink. I ran a few 5ks, hiked a LOT, got in ton of kickboxing and martial arts classes and added calories, decreased calories, starved, gorged... My body did what it wanted WHEN it wanted. Like you, I tallied everything; calories consumed, estimated calories burned, carbs, fat, miles, steps. There was no reason that I was in a stall other than that I was. As much as I love science and math (I was a math/sci teacher!), it's not always that cut and dry. Stress will cause you to gain weight or hold on to what you have. I suggest you just keep doing what you are doing, exercise comfortably, eat what is healthy and makes you feel "right" and tough it out. The scale will move in it's own time. You've accomplished GREAT things so far, you will get to where you want to be, I have no doubt. -
So, I consider myself fairly tolerant of stupid people (or I mask it well), but...

Would you do it again?
LipstickLady replied to love to be at goal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so freaking happy! I would absolutely do this again and again and again and again. I was a snug size 20 five months ago. Two days ago I went out and bought size 12 pants. I can run, I can jump, I can do cartwheels again. I can keep up with ANYONE I want to and still feel great the next day. I look amazing, I feel amazing and I have found MYSELF again. I don't care if I never eat another "normal" meal again. Hell, I had enough food for my lifetime in my first 42 years, I don't need any more for my next 42. I know that I most likely will and quite frankly, I am afraid of that. Without a doubt yes. Totally worth it. -
Does anyone know the reason?

My nut told me to limit fresh fruit and veggies for a year because I can hold so little and I will be full on these before I get in my protein. When I told her I ***HAD TO*** have a salad at 4 months out, she gave me great advice. She told me to just eat the toppings and to skip the lettuce filler. After all, the toppings are the best part, right? Seeds, bacon, cheese, onion, some crunchy veggies...YUM! -
Work it girl!!!
