Do you work for your weight loss or do the pounds just fall off?
LipstickLady replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pounds no more "fall off" than a baby "pops out". That's my two cents. -
Why can't people realize I cannot do this without surgery?
LipstickLady replied to BrandNewBrandy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
To answer your title, why do they need to? Why does it matter if they do or don't? It's not going to change your mind or your efforts nor is their understanding going to change your results. Why do you care? Your energy is much better spent elsewhere, I promise. -

Is it ever comfortable to eat again?
LipstickLady replied to sapMegan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a slight stricture so I feel ya'! Even at 7 months out, eating can be unpleasant for me. Have you tried using baby utensils or cocktail forks? I find that these force me to take teeny bites which makes things better. I also have to SLOW the freak down or I am miserable and it all comes back up. I was forcing myself to take a nibble, walk a lap around the house (open floor plan so I could still be with my family, ha!) and then come back for another bite. I also have days where I can eat 3-4 ounces at a time and days where an ounce or two is more than I can handle. You will figure it out. Talk to the NP about a stricture just in case. They can stretch it, I just chose not to because I needed to reminder to do the above. -
I Lost ******* in 2013
LipstickLady replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
AMAZING!! Congratulations to you!!! WONDERLAND is a lovely place to be. I lost 100.2 pounds over 2013. I gained the ability to work out for hours and not be in (the bad kind of) pain the next day. I can shop in any store I please and can buy clothes that make me look my age instead of my great granny's age. I can go to my kids' schools and am no longer the really superly morbidly obese fat mom. I loved life before but I now have so much more life I can live, not just in time, but in actual ability to go out there and do whatever the hell I want and I am THRILLED. THRILLED. -
2013 was a wonderful year! I want to make 2014 even better!
LipstickLady posted a topic in Rants & Raves
This will be the first year in the longest freaking time that I do not make weight loss my biggest and most pressing resolution. Hell's bells. I chose to no longer make New Year's Resolutions just because I knew the weight loss one would be my biggest and best failure. NO.MORE. Now I want to get healthier and fit. I know the weight will come off. The health and fitness will come if I work towards it and I am. Happy New Year to you and yours! Make this year the best you've had. I know you can and will. -

Your favorite PROTEIN BARS?
LipstickLady replied to JanetBP's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They aren't the best on carbs and sugar, I am sure, but they have real food components. I turned my father to them and he is diabetic. His levels have not gone up at all due to the bars so he's happy. I know everyone is different, but you can buy them individually so try them! -
Your favorite PROTEIN BARS?
LipstickLady replied to JanetBP's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh Yeah bars are the best!!! Taste just like candy bars and are totally yummy and filling. I am not a fan of Quest bars because they are so bar/cake like. Oh Yeah are much more chunky, textured and real feeling to me because they have whole peanuts, raisins, etc. LOVE THEM. -
Missing food right about now.
LipstickLady replied to nesa83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found foods like guacamole, hummus, cream cheese, refried Beans, warmed applesauce, and creamed Soups a lifesaver. They felt like "real foods" because they are and so delicious. Just because you usually eat it on a chip or a cracker doesn't mean you HAVE to! -
Lookity lookity lookity look at my ticker! Loooook at my ticker! Look!Look!Look! Lookity lookity lookity look!
LipstickLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thanks, everyone! Mr. Lipstick was not nearly as excited as me this morning. Perhaps it was my running leap back into bed followed by my punch punch punch punch while bellowing, "WAKE UP!! 100!! WAKE UP!!! 100!!!!". He's not a morning person. And he doesn't like to be punched. -

Reel me in, sleevers
LipstickLady replied to sleevethefatbehind's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Why do you feel the need to be so condescending and downright rude? I love my sleeve. It's the best thing I've ever one for myself. That said, someone else's decision to choose another option certainly doesn't affect me in any way. I certainly see no reason to be so derisive about something that has no bearing on you.
