Chinese food
LipstickLady replied to Amanda Nicole Hosaflook's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Depends on what you want to eat. I had egg drop Soup about three weeks in. I had steamed shrimp with sauce about 8 weeks in and steamed dumplings about 12 weeks in. I had an egg roll about 6 months in. Still no rice at 8 months in. -
What foods do you find most filling and sleeve friendly?
LipstickLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Exactly that! Bigger bites got really stuck, it was painful when I didn't chew well, I would foam and vomit very easily. Pills got stuck, I productive burped regularly. I still have issues, but it's pretty much self corrected. It will stretch on it's own. -

I have to wait at least 45 minutes to sun hour or I yarf. It's painful and it causes upheaval right away. If I'm one bite over limit, it's at least two hours. Sad, right? -

Consignment and goodwill for new and old. I also donate to safe houses. Many women leave with only the clothes on their back, so it's a great option. -

Thanks, but I'm only a month longer out than you and you are in the same place I was at 7 months! You are doing fantastic! -

Girl, you're going to blow this out of the water! This is an amazing journey. Enjoy every moment of it. -
The better you get at it, the harder you work. Once your feet figure out the basic moves, you can add in your arms, the hip swivels and everything else. If you truly enjoy it, you just suck at it, keep going. The enjoyments grows and the suckiness lessens, I promise.

So this is MY 2014. Never would I have done this 101 pounds ago!
LipstickLady posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My new year is all about fitness and I love it. I am doing the Rugged Maniac, a 5k/obstacle course (google it, it's awesome), my first 10k, a Zumba instructor certification course, and my Black Belt 5 day Leadership Camp (read that 5 days of martial arts HELL in the middle of July OUTDOORS in North Carolina). If you had asked me last year this time if I thought I would ever love to move my body as much as I do now, I would have looked at you like you were nucking futs! I am so so so so so so happy with myself, my decision to have this surgery and how freaking HOT I look and feel. NO REGRETS!!! NO REGRETS!!! -
What is this?
LipstickLady replied to pjackson0523's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a slight stricture that kept me from eating more than 3-4 bites at a time at your stage, too. It wasn't until about 6-7 months that I could eat 10-12 bites. I like it like that, so I chose not to have it stretched. -
It took me about 5 classes to really "get it". You will find that there are the same basic six to seen sets of moves and then a few special things for certain songs. You will get there. SO MUCH FUN!!

Drinking Water. I don't. Tracking lately. I have always been obsessive about it but lately, I just can't make the effort. UGH. -
Best and worst "compliments"
LipstickLady replied to Healthier2day1227's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This is not weird, just bizarre. Yesterday, one of my clients told me how "wonderful" I look. She then went on to tell me that she has always been underweight and that her doctor told her that she had to put on pounds (and she is and she did). In turn, I told her she looks wonderful (and she does). She then started asking me what clothing size I am now (WTF!?!?), what clothing size I was before (WTF-er!?!?!) and what size I would like to be. She accurately guessed that I am a 10 and that I was close to 8s before I could even form a sentence. She asked me what my goal size was or if I was finished losing. I did tell her that I would love to be a 6. She then GRABBED MY WRIST, PULLED UP MY SLEEVE and told me I would look sickly at a size 6. My bones are obviously far too big to ever be a six and I would not look good at all. She's lucky she's in her late 60s. I don't let ANYONE, including Mr. LSL, grab me without a bit of pain in return. I know she meant well, and it was all a compliment, but it was BIZARRE. -

Welcome! I wish you great success with your surgery! -
Nope. It took me a few minutes, but I finally decided that you are the top row, fourth over from the left.

I know it sucks right now and I hate it for you. I'd be pissy, too. No doubt! That said, you can't undo it, so you might as well work the plan and see what happens. I've had several periods of time where I lost no poundage, but I lost inches. Have you taken your measurements?mmif not, please do! I've not seen a single case where someone had WLS, followed their plan and failed. You won't be the first.

:faint: For me, teaching my kids that *I* matter, that *my health* matters and that we can be healthy and active and fit together matters. Yes, they are only small once, but the habits I teach them now will last long after I am gone.

Order your meal and ask that a box be brought out at the same time. Take home the no-nos or send them home with your friend.
