    I need to vent!

Incorrect. I don't always read an entire thread before posting. I was far too amazed at the attack on the OP not to comment right away. That doesn't make one a bully by any stretch of the imagination. Intent makes one a bully, IMO. Name calling is one characteristic of bullying. Where does that leave you?

    I need to vent!

I was going to post something about being very confused over that last post myself. LL - shall we agree to deconflict our opinions before posting?! Just talk for me. You are much better at it.

The usual gang? What!? One person was ugly, everyone else was supportive. How was that a gang? What in the world are you talking about?
  4. Refried beans, super soft scrambled eggs, hummus, guacamole, cream cheese, thin mashed potatoes and gravy, cream soups, peanut butter melted in microwave with a few drops of water...

    Ugh, still feel hungry!

I order and pick up. It's less than $2 and lasts a few meals.

    Just Wanted To Rant

I'd tell her to suck it. That's just me, though.

    I need to vent!

I would have said this if I wasn't all Vicodined up!

Wow! Unless you know this family personally, you made a LOT of huge assumptions. I agree that mom needs to either make sure her son honors his grandmother or get out of her house, but meds? Single parent guilt? He needs to be "broke"? Wow!

    Ugh, still feel hungry!

I had a stricture so I was far behind normal. Three weeks, maybe?

    Ugh, still feel hungry!

Egg drop soup was a lifesaver for me. The protein was very filling.

How Do You Beat the Cold?

I am in a tank, thermals, fleece Jammie's, socks, under two comforters and on top of a heating pad as I type this. I'm freaking freezing!

Feeling guilty for living in Florida...

You suck donkey balls, preacher man! Smooooooch!

    grr...medifast commercials. .

Agreed. There is more than one "right way" to commute to work, to write a letter, to build a bridge. My right way is not necessarily anyone else's. We see that all the time, even within the same WLS. Different NUTs have different food plans, surgeons have different pre op requirements, what's full liquid to one doc is not to another... No reason to take offense, just know that you made the best choice for you and hope others are doing the same for themselves.
  14. I buy seafood salad as a recipe makes so much and I eat so little. My husband does like shrimp burgers, so I am going to try and make this recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/spicy-shrimp-burgers-recipe.html I will sub red pepper for green and leave out the icky celery. They are very basic and yummy! If you have Fresh Market, that's where I buy mine!

So, that's pretty cool, I guess....

    Congratulations, beautiful!

The best scrambled eggs in the world!

That sounds yummy! Can you add cheese or will that ruin them?
  17. Refried beans with cheese and guacamole. Seafood salad. Shrimp burgers. Steamed shrimp and crab legs.

    Failing...by the book.

You can't undo the surgery so you might as well keep in going. I've got a feeling your body will figure it out.
  19. I cannot get warm. I live in southern VA, I have the heat set at 74, the fireplace is on, I'm wearing a fleece sleeping bag like thing over my ski thermals and I'm freeeeeeeeeezing. I think Mr. LL preferred my fat pjs (or lack thereof) better, but he'll deal. I swear I've been cold since November. Sigh...
  20. In my line of work, I often meet potential clients at Starbucks for the first time. Because we've never seen each other, it's always been my habit to describe myself as "short and round with big curly brown hair" and no one has ever missed me. I can always tell if the person I am meeting is a chubster, too, because they giggle at my comment. Today, I was the only female in the place when a heavier lady walked in who was obviously looking for me. I waved her over to the table and she looked at me and said, "I thought you said you were round. Were you trying to be funny? Making fun of fat people isn't a joke.' EHRMAHGHERRRRRRRD!!! I never even thought about it. I'm still short, I still have big, curly hair, but I'm no longer round. Last year at this time, I was a snug 20/XXL and now I'm a comfy size 10 in skinny pants/medium top. It took me a minute to even figure out what the heck she was referring to when she made the comment. I was so stunned at what happened, I stuttered over my explanation. I tried to explain that I've lost a bunch of weight, yada, yada, yada, but from the look on her face and her response back, I'm pretty sure I offended her and I won't be hearing from her again. Whooooops! There's a habit I'll have to break.

    Anyone have the Mirena?

I'm on my second Mirena. Love it.
  22. Every 3-4 days. I take fiber gummies and colace regularly.
  23. Normal. Many of us hit the 3 week stall which is common. You also need to consider surgical weight gain from Fluid retention. Your TOM will cause Water retention as well as any excess in salt from bad food choices. Hang on, follow plan FOR REAL, and move your body. The weight will come off.
  24. I moved a bit slower through the food stages due to a stricture and an awesome ability to foam and up chuck regularly. I'm 8 months in and I've found a small selection of foods that work for me. I am starting to have the ability to eat more in volume and I don't want to get into the slider food habit. What foods are the most filling for you and that "stick" the longest? I've found that tilapia is SOOO filling and sticks with me the longest. I can only eat 3-4 ounces and I feel full for at least 4 hours, so full I'm unable to drink anything for still least two hours. I'm also stuffed if I eat a scrambled egg with a pinch of cheese. This is my perfect food before working out because I'm full without being sluggish and it keeps me from feeling light-headed after a good cardio class. What are your top go to foods to keep the hungries away?
