Able to eat way more than I thought I would

The problem is not your sleeve size. Here are the bougie sizes:
  2. I dreamed about this meal (DINNER) while on my six-week post-op liquids phase. Granted, it's double the calories what my recent meals are lately (I'm trying to stay under 800 per day and usually succeed), but for the day yesterday, this brought me to 1,062, which I consider okay. This meal itself was 621. A lot? Yes. Worth it? Yes. I also brought home more than this as leftovers. My point is, if you use MyFitnessPal, just about everything is in there and you can easily plan ahead. This is steak and lobster and a wedge salad. I had moderate portions of each. I obviously will only be eating this way once in a blue moon, but yesterday the moon was blue, so there you go. (Note: the drawn butter killed the counts, but made the meal.) That's quite a meal for 6-8 weeks out!

    sick of 'IS THIS NORMAL'

Remember the girl who insisted sleeve peeps pooped out their staples?
  4. Take a bite or two of whatever Protein he has. Save $$ and no leftovers!
  5. Find another doctor. That's the bottom line. At 363 pounds, "cutting calories and walking a little more" isn't going to get you the results you need and desire. If you were 20 or 30 pounds overweight, your doctor would be absolutely correct. I assume you have worked at your weight loss for years, like many/most of us, have lost and regained many times over and have hit rock bottom emotionally regarding your dieting efforts. You need a doctor who is more sympathetic to obesity and who understands how hard it is to lose and keep off the weight, especially when your BMI is so high. He's not the one.
  6. I picked other! I love going out to eat. No shopping, cooking or prepping! My WWs days taught me to scope out the menu in advance, but even if it's not possible, I can always find something; a soup, side or app. If I find nothing, so be it. I don't NEED to eat like I did in the past. I always have Jerky, a Protein bar or almonds in my bag if I am going to be out all day, so I certainly won't starve. Big diff? I no longer have an opinion on where we go, as my four or five bites don't carry much weight. My only stressful time is going somewhere like a food court. Not a lot of healthy choices at some of them and I don't do chicken well. That's usually the only good option, so I mince it up the best I can and eat sllllloooooowwwww. Or I don't. Again, I won't starve.
  7. I'm a bit shocked at the (thankfully VERY) few who are knocking those who strive to be "perfect". Isn't that akin to the middle school kids who picked on their classmates who work hard to get straight A's? No matter what path you choose, whether it be following your doc's orders to a T, cheating as much as you can along the way or somewhere in the middle, it's YOUR CHOICE. I don't give a flying rat's patoot what *ANYONE ELSE* thinks of me and what I'm doing. My opinion is the only one that matters about me. If I am successful, I'm successful because of ME. If I fail, I fail because of me. No one can take that away from me. If I ask for advice, I expect to get it whether I like it or not based on the facts that I present. If I post my opinion or my thoughts, I expect feedback whether it be positive or negative. That's what happens when one posts on a public message board. Just as I am the only one responsible for my actions, I am the only one responsible for my words and more importantly, I am the only one responsible for how I respond to any feedback I get. Take the good, leave the bad, and keep doing what makes you happy. That's the bottom line.

    What is your Pre-op Diet?

(I edited your title from dirt to diet for ya'!)

    Hello Everyone - silly question

I had one! I was totally fascinated by my ability to walk the halls and pee at the same time. Didn't bother me a bit.
  10. You are only eleven posts away! You can do it.
  11. I obviously missed something, thankfully, but I will remind you again that personal attacks will not be tolerated on these forums. Please refrain from such. If you feel as if someone is picking a fight with you, hit the report button and then walk away. Thank you so much for your assistance in keeping these boards enjoyable for all.
  12. Why would you feel guilty?
  13. Bread makes me feel like crap and I no longer want it. I can have a bite and be fine, but anything past that and I feel awful for hours. My bestie can eat bread with no problem and she is a year out from me (I am 11 months out). Nothing is taboo, you just need to decide what's right for you. But remember, it's a treat, not a staple.
  14. Why not? The sleeve isn't a death sentence, it's a tool for weight loss. You will be on a strict diet for a few months while you heal and then a doctor recommended diet while you lose. Hopefully you will teach yourself to make healthy choices and allow yourself a few bites bites of an occasional treat. It's all good. No need to mourn a food you've never had because it does not mean you never will.
  15. Why won't you ever get to have one?
  16. Huh. My perception of this board and yours is completely different. I see very few who claim to be perfect and even fewer who are as judgemental as you perceive them to be. I do see a lot of people who complain of being "slow losers", of being in "perpetual stalls", and who think they've "broken" their sleeve all while speaking of the bad choices they've made, the "cheat" foods they eat regularly, the food phases they've skipped, etc. I see a lot of people who are working hard to follow plan give the above people solid advice, and at times, some tough love. They aren't always kind, I admit, but tone and intention are hard to read on the Internet. It boggles me that someone would have a "$20,000" tool "installed" and then refuse to follow "manufacturer instructions", instead believing they (who got themselves in this predicament in the first place) know better how to maximize their results. Funny how different our perceptions can be, don't you think?

    Restriction Question for the Long-Timers

Normal for a healthy person not normal American sized portions. Yes, I eat slow, chew well, and take my time between bites. I've learned my lesson when I don't over the last year, that's for sure.

    Low Carb or not....

I'm not so good at chicken. It has to be chopped. Every kind of meat has to be cut against the grain for me to consume it, and still warm is preferable. Just use regular mayo. Why sugar free? Eat real food!

    Restriction Question for the Long-Timers

@@PdxMan, I was a bad slimer. Still do from time to time. No matter how small/slow/well chewed my food, I slime randomly. If I am maxed, great! I just hear of all these people who can eat normal portions, and I can't nor do I want to. I can't even eat "twig lady eats like a bird" portions most days. Again, not complaining, just wondering. No pushing it here, @@LilMissDiva Irene. If i do, I'm sure to vomit.

So it hits me...... No Beer!

Eh. I drink a beer from time to time. Hard cider, too. I can handle carbonation if I drink it slowly and eat nothing before or after. Nothing like a cold Red Stripe at the beach!
