  1. I didn't feel weird at 30 pounds. Or 40. Or 50, 60, 70. I was even OK the first time I said 100. Then the total, complete embarrassment clicked in for no reason that I can put my finger on. I think it was the wide eyed look of amazement. There was no judgement at all, but the absolute wonderment made me feel sort of like a circus side show. Now when people ask, I simply say, I lost "a small person", or "a lot", or "way more than I should have had to". I smile and leave no more room for further questions.

There are many vegetarians who are successful sleevers so you can definitely make this work, especially as you eat chicken. There are tons of chicken products for variety, ground, chicken sausage, turkey Jerky and bacon if you eat other poultry, etc. Your job will be to find Protein rich foods you love. Nuts, Beans, turkey, pork?, tofu, cheese?... I urge you to explore fish or crab, because you never know.. You'll be fine with a little more effort than the average meat eater.

    Anyone not tell family?

I've got 10-15 to go. Perhaps I will lose a pound for each person I tell??

Anal sex and will it cause damage

No, really, no. You really don't want to think about it.

    Anyone not tell family?

So not telling the world my personal business is why I have failed at my WLS??!?!? Darnitall! Why didn't someone tell me that a year ago when I had my surgery done?? I guess it's time to start spreading the news because having only lost 111 pounds so far, I'm clearly doing something wrong.

    All you can eat restaurant

    Ask your surgeon for one.
  9. No more drinking w/straws ever ,you get gassy & can stretch the sleeve out from extra air ingested. I respectfully disagree. Many doctors allow straws, mine included. Air won't stretch your sleeve. If that was the case, you wouldn't be allowed to eat broccoli, Beans and other foods that create gas. I use a straw all the time. I still can't eat more than 2-4 ounces, and I'm a year out.

    Discouraged and Heartbroken.

My heart breaks for you. Stay strong, and take care of yourself. Your husband wants the best for you, I'm sure. I'd bet the last thing he wants is to see you self destruct. You can get back on track, you just need to take the time to take care of yourself through all your pain. I'm so sorry...
  12. A few days shy of a year here and gulping = pain and vomiting. Eeeek!
  13. Be careful about leaving plastic water bottles with water in them in the heat in the car. I watched a show where Cheryl Crow was quiet outspoken about believing that contributed to her cancer. Don't know all the facts but better to be safe than sorry I use glass bottles.

Don't wait to be perfect to enjoy life

Amen!! The "perfect" body may never come. A few more pounds to go, loose skin, bat wings, chipped toenail polish, a bad hair day. Enjoy the changes in your body as they come!! I wasted enough years being fat, I'm certainly not going to waste more while I am waiting to be "thin".
  16. My pre-op diet was supposed to be for two weeks, but I chose to follow it for a month. No cheating. I figured if I'd had enough food in my 42 years to be as fat as I was, I certainly didn't need more. I was READY to be healthy and I was anxious to get started. So no, no cheating here, and I went into surgery knowing I did everything I could to ensure that my procedure was going to be a safe as I could make it.

    Hiw does it feel.

I no longer enjoy the feeling of being full. In fact, I find it quite icky. I don't mean overly full, just regular full. As soon as my nose starts to drip, I know that I need to stop, or I will hit full. I feel the "full" feeling of tightness much higher than before. It used to be that unbuttoning my pants would relieve the pressure, now the feeling is much higher and in the middle of my sternum. (No, taking off my bra does nothing! ) It almost feels if I have a huge burp stuck and no amount of walking with shake it loose. I don't like it.
  18. My car is like a mini food truck. I have almonds, jerky, Water bottles, and little Lance peanut packs (1oz - 8 pack from the dollar store) in there at all times. I also carry a cooler with an ice pack in it most days because I work out of my car and I always have leftovers if I eat out, or so I can take along my cheese and drinks.
  19. There are lots of great options out there. I was more than happy to ladle out broth when I needed to. Panera and other restaurants will be glad to do it, too. Most customers want the opposite, so they will happily give you a cup of broth. Squeezable apple sauces are good, single serve hummus cups (sans the crackers) or cream cheese with a spoon are fabulous. My NUT also recommended KFC's mashed potatoes and gravy on puree because they have no lumps. I love my Wawa (gas station and convenience store) for Jerky, string cheese, fruit cups, hard boiled eggs, almonds, yogurt tubes... Don't forget the deli at your grocery, too! They are happy (well, maybe not, but I don't care) to slice one or two cuts of deli meat or cheese. I often have them cut me a bit of roast beef and horseradish cheddar, grab a few olives off the olive bar, and have a great lunch for under $2. The salad bar always has chicken salad, seafood salad, and Pasta salads with Protein mixed in. (I am not above picking out the protein and leaving the pasta!) The seafood counter always has cooked/peeled shrimp, so I will buy 3-4 of those at times (less than $2!) and add them to my seafood salad. Lots of options. You just have to ASK for them.

    Non-scale victory!
  21. Waist size is inches, these are US dress/pants sizes. I'd like to be a 4/6. I'm now an 8. I'm a shirty at 5'3, so that makes a difference. All that said, I still feel like a success.

    Kickboxing

I had to put my martial arts training and kickboxing on hold for three months. Falls are bad. Forceful kicking/punching/twisting = bad. Low intensity if fine after a few weeks, but kickboxing doesn't generally fall into that category unless you aren't doing it right.

I teach that type of kickboxing. It's great fun, a huge stress reliever and wonderful for your body! ENJOY!!!

    RNY or the Sleeve

I'd always side with the surgeon, personally, unless I had an inherent reason to choose differently.
