    No, I don't have cancer!

I had a cashier at the grocery compliment me on how I looked and then she asked if I was getting a divorce. :thud: Ironically, I was dressed up because we were going out to dinner for our 19th anniversary. That's my favorite "compliment" so far, for sure.

    Icky experience

My first poo was 13 days after surgery. When it happened, the sky got a little bluer, the birds sang a little louder, the sun shined a little brighter... My NP said that while my "wait time" was excessive, it's not too abnormal to not make the poo poo when you are consuming nothing but liquids and a bit of Protein shake here and there.
  3. On the other hand, I had this surgery to regain control of my eating. Denying myself during diet after diet was a vicious cycle of denial followed by binge eating. I refuse to ever do that again. My restriction is a wonderful tool that has helped me get back on top of my weight and I refuse to live the rest of my life on a "diet". I will always log. I will always exercise. I will always eat my protein first. I will *not* deny myself a bite or two of foods I love like I've done for the last few decades. That was my biggest downfall.
  4. You will start feeling restriction when you are eating real food.

    Food Ideas

At my soft food stage (and on...), I ate a lot of chicken salad, tuna salad, ham salad, seafood salad, egg salad. Because I can eat so little, I never worried about FF mayo, but I do use light as I prefer the taste. Refried Beans with ground beef and salsa mixed in, topped with cheese and baked is good. Hummus or guacamole is a favorite. Quiche is/was a staple. I skipped the crust and added all my favorite chopped meats and veggies. There is a LOT that can be done with a quiche as far as fillings. I also did crustless pot pie with shredded chicken. Crab cakes, shrimp cakes, black bean cakes. Chili, beef stew, white chicken chili. lunch meat roll ups with cheese and avocado inside, omelettes It seems hard, but it's not. Just be creative. Peruse cook books, remove the carbs and enjoy!

What food stage are you in? What are you eating now?
  7. I am a year out and my ability to eat those items? pizza I was about 8 months out before I could get down 1/2 slice without the crust. And it makes me feel horrid. bagel Not going to happen. Sticks terribly. Mexican food: nachos, tacos, etc. Tortillas stick. Meat, cheese, Beans, salsa are staples from soft foods to present. pretzel Soft, NO. Hard, 6 months. salad Chopped, at 3 months out but I rarely eat salad because the veggies fill me up and I can't eat Protein. corn on the cob See above, avocado From mushy foods on. A staple in my house. nuts From three months on. A staple in my house. lasagna Nope. Pasta makes me vomit.

    does sleeve have restriction?

Agree with the above. I get restriction with Protein as noted in a previous post, but I also feel restriction with veggies, fruit, carbs... Everything.

    Oscar mayer p3 protein pack

I keep looking at them and I think they would be great for "emergencies". That said, I can eat so little now that what I do eat, I want to be quality. I am not a fan of processed meat so I wouldn't eat these as a staple, but in a pinch? For sure! If you are a fan of these, you might like the Protein boxes at Starbucks, too. Quick, and if you toss the crackers or bread that comes with, it's a perfect grab and go lunch.

    I didnt want to lie...

@@PdxMan I totally want to know about your 'rhoids.

    I didnt want to lie...

It's clear by the way you continuously use the word "lie" you have no idea how offensive you are being. I'm an open person but I've kept this surgery to myself. Why? Because I have many more interesting characteristics than my weight. I don't care to talk about it 24/7. Period. I've not "lied" to anyone nor do I plan to. I am not obligated to tell the world my personal business and I don't need to "lie" to maintain my privacy.

    What would you do?

Go. You have to get used to this being your normal, regular life so you might as well be all in. Chewing gum may be a benefit, though. You can do it!
  13. Name calling is definitely a no-no in my book and I hate it when I see it. That said, isn't that what was done in the title, the OP and several posts in this thread? Seems sort of pot meet kettle if you ask me. It's wrong no matter which "side" you are on.

    So, what's your hurry?

Why are you waiting six weeks? I was cleared for yoga at two, swimming at three, dance at four and martial arts at six.
  15. i guess i fail to see how anyone else can "ruin" anything for me... this is an online forum. there are 100s and 100s of people here. at any one time there will be many people saying things i dont like, for whatever reason. if someone says something i dont like, i move on. people werent put on this earth to act the way i think they should and vise versa. its not my job to babysit anyone's feelings and no one should have to babysit my feelings.... if someone is personally attacking me then i report them. otherwise, no one ruins anything for me... i am an adult, i get to choose how much weight i put on someone else's responses to me (or anyone else). once i start requiring other people to act a certain way so i can have a certain experience, i am giving away my power and responsibility. i am here to get support, knowledge and share my experience. if any one person isnt adding to that, so what? move on! if you are going to hang out in an online forum, you need a thick skin... people are always going to act in ways you dont like, you cant let them ruin your experience here if the reason you are here is important to you. Girl. Can you go post this in the "We are all adults here" thread?
  16. I guess I've missed all this "bullying" that you speak of. In the future, I'd suggest if you feel "bullied", hit the report button and ask a moderator for assistance. Creating a topic to call names and point fingers is only going to stir up drama and quite frankly, is against the rules of this forum. I'm sorry your feeling were hurt by someone and I hate that it happened to you. You have every right to ask any question you want and I encourage you to continue to post, learn and grow (shrink!?!) but at the same time, starting topics like this do nothing for the good of the community. Best wishes to you.
  17. None. All of those "favorites" got me into this position in the first place. Eeeeeek!
  18. My cravings are gone and no, I am not a "filthy liar".

    I totally agree.

    Any tips would be great

Funny. I've never considered myself lying nor have a felt guilty about my answer. I don't expect people to tell me all the intimate details of their lives nor do I need to share mine. To tell or not to tell! Such a personal decision.

    Any tips would be great

My go to answer? High Protein, low carb, extra exercise and cutting out the bad things. Totally true, and who can argue with what anyone who has ever dieting knows is the "right" thing to do? The main "bad" thing I cut out? My tummy. No one needs to know that specific detail.

  24. Then by all means, go out, drink, eat and be merry!
