Applause. -
Well, there you go! Thanks!

No idea. It's good, though.

When You Realize You Really Are Changing...
LipstickLady replied to cmick14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eighteen months out and still doing it even though I've been at goal for many months. After being a fatty for 20 years, it's bizarre. I hope the wonderment never ends. -
The most positive post on this site
LipstickLady replied to bobbyswife's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Awwwwww....thank you both! You totally made my day. I'm going to send a little shout out to @@VSGAnn2014 for "getting me", @@proudgranny for always being the rainbow in the clouds and to an old friend I miss, @@Madam Reverie. I hope she makes it in here. There are so many more great peeps to mention! Ugh...the pressure. xxxooo -
Tell them you are having some tummy issues and food isn't sitting well. Truth.

"What if there were a natural disaster?" No access to Protein or Vitamins!
LipstickLady replied to JALUVIC's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We are supposed to avoid intubation but I'm not wearing a bracelet. Nope. Natural disaster? I'm so not worried. I am completely normal. I can live off the same things as everyone else. Protein is better, but won't die any faster than anyone else without it. -
Skinny hazelnut latte for hot. Skinny caramel iced coffee with skim milk for cold. I also love a skinny cafe americano if I want coffee not espresso or a skinny hazelnut macchiato upside down, hot or cold, if I want something stronger. I love a Starbucks.

Welcome! So happy to have you. I can't wait to hear about your journey.

I shave my muffin. I leave a little landing strip (for the jumbo jet!) but that's it. So much easier than it used to be.

Everyone who ever lost a pound thinks they know it all.
LipstickLady replied to Stevehud's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Game? I'm simply replying to your post. No need to be rude. -
I've not told but a few people and I've posted pics all along. Even with almost 1300 friends on my page, I've never been asked about surgery.

I never deal with issues like that because I keep my private life private. -
Why are some weight loss surgery patients so clueless?
LipstickLady replied to VSGAnn2014's topic in Rants & Raves
I'm kind of thinking that calling someone a name and telling them to shut their mouth is not what your parents had in mind. -

Yikes! As a hostess of this forum, I am going to have to ask you to review the rules of this community. Name calling and abusive language are not permitted. I understand that you might not like the response you got here, but that's no reason to violate the rules. I appreciate your understanding. http://www.bariatricpal.com/index.php?app=forums&module=extras§ion=boardrules -
I'll admit it...I'm scared.

I know. I am so glad your doctor was able to get you in so quickly. Nerve-wracking. Hugs to you. Coma back and update, please!! -
Which Weight Loss Surgery Is Right For Me?
LipstickLady replied to paigeh93's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'd look into the sleeve if I were you, too. It's a great option. -
I'll admit it...I'm scared.
LipstickLady replied to shelby77's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ME!! I was a perfectly normal, healthy fat chick, very active, somewhat "athletic" with no co-morbidities. When I had my heart test, it came back abnormal and the surgeon's nurse scared the poo out of me. Her words were "there is something wrong with your heart -- you can't have surgery". WHAT THE WHAT!?!??!! :faint: I made an emergency appointment with a top cardiologist and BOOM, nothing. They read the EKG wrong. He did another and cleared me as just fine. He said it happens with non-heart experts all the time. Don't freak out yet. I give you permission to do so AFTER you see the cardio. -

A PPI is your acid inhibitor. Excess acid mimics hunger. You may need more than you are getting. -
Goodwill all the way.

Ask your doctor to increase or change your PPI. Sounds like you need it. -
GOING TO SLEEP HUNGRY
LipstickLady replied to downsizingdiva's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eh, it's a myth. Calories in + Calories out = Weight Loss or Weight Gain. There is no mythical beast that hides within you holding a clock who will add weight to your booty if you eat at 6:01p or even 11:35pm unless you've taken in more than you've burned. That's true for pre and post op. -
High Protein Low Fat Foods?
LipstickLady replied to mnmlst's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's my non-expert opinion (as someone who has lost 112 pounds and maintained for the last 6 months) that you don't need to worry about fat. Fat is not the enemy. High Protein, low carb is your answer. cheese, eggs, almonds, beef Jerky, lean meats, fatty meats (within reason!), hummus, greek yogurt (if you can stand it)... Lots of great choices out there, but I would urge you to eat REAL food. When you cut the fat, sugar is added. Sugar is not your friend. Your portions are so limited now, the fuller fat will keep you full and satisfied longer. Research it. You will see that most high protein diets don't count fat, too. I know it's weird, but it works. -
Sleeved today! Nov 17
LipstickLady replied to dinosaurateme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Great! Don't get nervous if you start to feel like poo over the next few days. You will probably hover on dehydration and the lack of calories will start to get to you a bit, but it seems that many people, myself included, start to feel normal at the three week mark. Welcome to the loser side!! You are going to feel amazing!! -
I'd be so tempted. Instead, though, I'd print out this post and give it to her. I'm sorry that happened to you. I can't believe they forced you to be part of the contest or that you let them. That's a form of harassment IMO. Hugs. You're the ultimate winner here.
