Telling Coworkers
LipstickLady replied to pittielover74's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Easy. Don't tell. If they ask you how you're losing weight, tell them you are working with your doctor and suggest they work with theirs if they are interested in learning more. If they continue to ask questions, tell them you're tired of talking about your weight but you'd be more than happy to talk about theirs. Done. -

I love steak. Now, when I have the urge, I eat really rare filet or I buy seasoned roast beef and make a hot steak and cheese sandwich without the bread. -

best pizza crust out there!
LipstickLady replied to robga999's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OH GIRL!! You know what's delish? Take a handful of pepperoni slices and put them on a cookie sheet. Bake them in the oven (I use my little convection oven, some people use the microwave) and bake until they shrivel up and get crunchy. Blot the excess oil off and enjoy! In the microwave you really have to watch them as they will burn quickly but it's fast. If you do them in the oven, you can put a pinch of mozz. on them when they are almost done and YUM YUM YUM. -

The first time I tried chocolate after surgery, my mouth tasted as if I had just licked an ashtray. It was SO nasty. For the first time, I could actually tolerate yogurt, too. I couldn't eat bananas, a fruit I loved, because they tasted far too sweet. Now, I like chocolate again, yogurt is the devil's work and I still haven't tried to eat a banana. No idea why. It's weird how our tastes change, then change again, and then again. -

Blocking is a great feature. I've never blocked anyone because I am too darn nosy but it's a great feature to have at our disposal. -

What's Your Food Philosophy: Abstain Forever Or Eat In Moderation?
LipstickLady replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This was my original answer and here is my answer 20 months out. Moderation is MY answer. I like being able to eat anything I want and my restriction keeps me from eating too much of anything. I have grown a sweet tooth since surgery which is weird, but a few bites is enough. More than a few and I will have poop Soup the next day, for sure. I no longer crave chips and I can eat just a portion of nuts if I buy a whole can. When I do have a few chips, a few is more than enough. I don't love them any more. I get full quickly from almonds or peanuts. I can't eat bread, rice or Pasta. A bite or two is OK but then I have zero room for anything else and I feel like crap. I can eat 1/4 of a panini if it's very crispy/toasted but more than that makes me foam/vomit. I let my restriction be my guide and I make great choices 80% of the time. I make good choices 10% of the time and the rest is utter crap. Fortunately 10% of 1/2 cup doesn't hurt me much. -

Of course I don't have a problem with you. Why would I? Edit: Only posting this last response in case anyone thinks I might. I see you are new to our forum. You will see that topics often twist and turn, go off topic, go back on, etc. It's a common and welcome occurrence. It's how discussion works. Welcome! -

Telling someone what they should/should not post on a public message board isn't very effective. Just an FYI. -
