This is easy, really. Uber there. You WILL NOT want anyone there post op. I didn't and you sound even more stubborn and ornery than me. (That's a compliment.) Stop being hard headed and let someone who cares about you drive you home. It's a ten minute drive. They can help you inside, settle you on the couch, pour you some Water and get out. It's OK to accept help sometimes, no matter how much some us don't like it. My hospital wouldn't have released me to an Uber, nor should they. You will have a few hours notice of your release. It's going to work out fine.

Are revisions REALLY necessary?
LipstickLady replied to Babbs's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I love love love that most of us were able to have a friendly discussion on what could possibly be considered a controversial topic like adults. Only a few incidents of indignation and one borderline name calling incident a few posts above. It's really refreshing! -

She's my spirit animal too. I don't know her from Adam or what her voice sounds like but if I ever get the urge to eat something stupid post-surgery I'm going to think "What would Lipstick Lady say.." Maybe I should make that a motivational bracelet...W.W.L.L.S? I sound sort of like Minnie Mouse, to be honest. -

I knew NONE of this. Thank you for explaining. And I am **thrilled** it's working for you. -

So here is my question for you. (And before ANYONE starts a battle on @@LisaMergs behalf -- she and I are groovy, we can discuss like adults without intervention.) Clearly you have had awesome results with the bypass. Why did you doctor suggest it? Was is malabsorbtion? As I stated earlier, that makes MUCH more sense than the people who say they never overate but who choose the sleeve. Did he/she think this would "reset" your metabolism? More importantly, are you off all those awful meds that made you gain the weight? I've seen your pics and you look AH-MAY-ZING. I know you can clear up some of my confusion about this. -

Are revisions REALLY necessary?
LipstickLady replied to Babbs's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
So to piggy back on the question. What are your thoughts on WLS on folks who swear they were not addicted to food, rarely over ate, only consumed 1500 calories or less daily. etc? How does reducing their stomach size really help? I get that malabsorbtion might, but the sleeve or band? Again, no judgement, just confused. -

ABSOLUTELY!! They will have to put me down the day I need adult diapers for poo. DNR. DNR. -
Are revisions REALLY necessary?
LipstickLady replied to Babbs's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Great question, @@Babbs ! I understand the revision when it's medically necessary. Band to sleeve because it eroded or sleeve to bypass because of GERD issues, but the idea of revising because "it didn't work"? It's confusing. No judgement because it's not my journey, but confusing. -
Lap band to sleeve questions
LipstickLady replied to Green1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you addressed these questions with your surgeon or NUT? I am a bit confused at your first question. You've already had the revision surgery but you aren't sure of the difference between the band and the sleeve? I am POSITIVE I am misunderstanding that. And no, mashed potatoes are NOT liquid. If you can't drink it through a straw, it's not liquid. (And no, just because you CAN drink it through a straw, doesn't mean you should. Milkshakes are out of the question! ) THINK PROTEIN!! If you get all your Protein in, you should not have room for anything else. -
Bariatric Adult Diapers

Respectfully disagree. I had serious poo issues and I was 100% compliant. But no on the diapers. Nope. -
When is it safe to eat pureed food?
LipstickLady replied to 11072016's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Follow your surgeon's plan! Every doctor is different and they prescribe (not suggest!) a diet progression for a reason. I didn't like sweet stuff either, so I feel your pain. chicken broth, pureed Soups, strained egg drop or miso Soup... This was one of my favorite brands: http://www.pacificfoods.com/food/soups/creamy-soups.aspx It's only another 10 days! You can do it. -

Dub, don't do that, have some class, there are ladies present. It's all good, bro. Thick reference tools seem to be in favor 'round here. Did someone reference girth?? I LOVE girth. Damn. GIRTH. -
Chances are very good that you will! I can tolerate everything I used to eat with the exception of a few things; soft bread, Pasta, rice, ice cream and cream based Soups. When I eat those foods (most of which used to be favorites) they make me feel so YUCKY, I no longer want them. It's hard to describe the aversion to a food that was once a favorite when you've not experienced it. It's actually quite freeing.
