Is cheese ok Pre-op
LipstickLady replied to Casey235's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only ate things on my surgeon's list. There will be plenty of time for cheese after surgery. It's a staple in my world. Trust me. -
Gas Bubbles without burping
LipstickLady replied to Megan Kolar's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It sounds like it is acid related. Ask your doctor if you can double up on your meds or try some gas X and Rolaids. -
From now on, I am going to post anything that may be considered controversial or "drama inducing" like this. So in other words, everything I post.

I think my eyes are bleeding now Yeesh!! You b!tchen about that, too!?!?!?!?!

Girl, I twist a LOT of people and in turn, there are a few that twist my words like a tornado. I consider the source and move on.

I generally mind my own business when I meet a very obese person

But! But! But! You're wrong!!!!! Everyone must THINK.ACT.SPEAK.FEEL. just like ME. Good post. -
If you make a post on a public forum, you've got to expect discussion. You may not like what is said, what is focused on or the twists and turns the conversation takes. You may not care for who answers, how they interpret your words, or their reaction to your words. I'm guilty of taking all of the above personally. I admit it, I own it. Sometimes I have to step back, breathe and remember that once I hit POST, it's not MY thread. The discussion is not about ME personally. The words I don't care for do not affect my REAL life in any way unless I allow them to. The discussion that ensues is not just for me, it's for everyone that accesses this forum, new, old, short, tall, pink, blue and polka dotted. When the discussion gets passionate, it simply means people care. No worries, another "hot" thread will come along within a day or so and people will move on. Bottom line. You can't control people's words and actions, you can only control your own reaction.

1st appointment, 1st concern

Most programs that I know of use your initial weigh in to determine. a That's just MY experience. -
1st appointment, 1st concern
LipstickLady replied to ashleyclarke44's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tell your behaviorist of your concerns. Ask him/her what they advise. At the very least he/she will know you are concerned, aware and want to change but why you are afraid. That speaks volumes. -
@@Madam Reverie Where are you!?!?!??!

Hello Sleeve, its nice to meet you
LipstickLady replied to Bonawanabfree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try walking the stairs. Seriously. It will help you burp, it will help your stomach muscles contract and it will get things moving. I am the queen of puking and overfilling as I have a stricture and trust me, I know misery. Walking helps, walking the stairs helps even more. -
As WELL as you do.

Oh, for the love of all that is good and holy. Especially on my iPad.
-
Oh! Want me to come visit and mentor you personally? What time should I be there??

Did anyone have MORE energy newly sleeved?
LipstickLady replied to liannatx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The three week mark was my turning point. My body was lighter, I was completely detoxed of chemical laden food, artificial colors, excess fatty mess... Plus the pure excitement of being post op and diet free!! -
Eh. It definitely sounds more impressive than it is. A bit pompous, too, I'll admit. I thought that as soon as I hit enter. Urp! Industry specific stuff for my business, motivational speaking stuff (of the "get off your ass, stop whining and get shit done" variety), and training manuals, again industry specific. Snore city. I promise.

I use ... way too much, too. And I list things like this/that/those/these all the time. HA! I do cringe at improperly used "" (sorry!) and I put side thoughts in parenthesis. I write like I talk. Oddly, I am a published author so I should know better.

Oh, I disagree. Some people are definitely nauseous.

PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSST. I said YOU CAN'T!!!!!

You can't.

BariatricPal Topic of the Week: Question for the Parents (and Others)
LipstickLady replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My kids have seen me struggle with my weight since they were old enough to notice. I had my surgery when they were 12 and 14 so they've seen me do WWs, Atkins, South Beach, etc. They know points, they know carbs, Proteins, fats, they know labels, weighing, measuring, etc. Nothing I can do about that. They also know what I had to go through to be healthy and how difficult it's been. I have never taken my kids to fast food places, they've probably been to McDs, BK, Wendy's, etc. less than a dozen times in their lives. They do know pizza, Americanized Chinese and other unhealthy choices, but they have always been pushed towards healthier alternatives. Something I have ALWAYS done is keep candy, Cookies and ice cream in the house. They are always allowed to have it (they had to ask first when they were little), and nothing is "forbidden" or "bad". I think half the reason I struggled with my weight is because I was never allowed "bad" foods growing up because of my mother's dieting so when I was on my own, it was a free for all. Because treats aren't TREATS, it's rare they finish a carton of ice cream, a pan of brownies or an entire cake. In fact, I think they still have candy from Christmas and Halloween in their candy bags. They are both athletic, slender, and make good choices on their own. Was it my teaching? My struggles? Good luck on my part? I don't know, but I do know that kids need to learn good nutrition before the obesity rates rise even higher. -

OMG Cursive fonts, and unreadable fancy fonts drive me up a wall! That's the one thing that makes me hit the back button as fast as I can. I refuse to even try to read those.
