Only you can decide if and when you are ready.
Personally, I felt I had eaten MORE than my share of food in my lifetime. I was VERY ready to get out from under the hold food had over me and more importantly, the weight that was holding me back from fully living my life. I am two years out tomorrow, and I have not regretted a single moment of my life since my surgery. I can buy clothes in any store. I can climb stairs without breathing heavy, I can eat (almost) any foods I want to. I Zumba, kickbox, and do mud runs with my two athletic teenagers. It's a thrill every time they borrow MY clothes. (MY CLOTHES!!! THEY WANT TO BORROW MY CLOTHES!!!!) There is no cake/pizza/fries/ice cream on earth that even touches how great being thin makes me feel. NONE.
