Not telling anyone. What do you say?
LipstickLady replied to Ssze1109's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The truth? Proud? Are you implying that those who don't share are lying or ashamed? No. Just simply answering the topic title.... "Not telling anyone. What do you say?" Great! Thank you! -
I eat both regularly, but didn't do so until approved by my NP.

Finally able to eat my favorite food!

I have loved chicken wings since surgery, oddly enough. I max out at four pieces (not whole wings) and enjoy every bit. YUM!! -

"The last supper" syndrome?
LipstickLady replied to llism's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Are you tracking your food? I found that planning out my food choices and actually writing them down ahead of time kept me on track and accountable. -
Have you spoken to your surgeon about your food choice? Are you working with a counselor to figure out why you made such a dangerous choice while your body is healing? Food issues are hard to handle on our own because unlike an alcoholic or drug addict, we still have to eat. I'm sure many successful people have made bad choices but I'd also bet they didn't make them often. Call your doc for use! Best of luck to you. You can do this.

@@gustavio Girl. You seem to be obsessed with making me out to be some sort of mean girl monster. I'd think most anyone who cared to look at my posting history would think differently. Cheated on Pre-Op Diet
LipstickLady replied to Frenchie1977's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My only concern about NOT talking to your doctor? I totally understand your fear of being rescheduled but I highly doubt that will happen if you stick to your diet from here out. That said, I do not know your current height/weight/BMI (nor am I a doctor), so I don't know his/her goals for you pre-op. Nothing would suck more than being opened up and then stitched up with no surgery because he/she isn't happy with your progress or liver. Again, just thinking out loud. -
Recipe ideas to make meat flavorful
LipstickLady replied to Dunerider's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
cheese, gravy, sriracha mayo, aioli. Check out the condiment aisle. There are so many mustards and mayos and ethnic sauces that will add moisture and flavor to your meats. And the all mighty crock pot is amazing for flavor an tenderness. -

My gastric sleeve has been a total failure!
LipstickLady replied to Gastricsleevefailure's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Are you tracking and logging your food? How many calories, carbs and fat grams are you taking in daily? That might help you determine why you are not losing. Also, how much Water are you taking in? Are you exercising at all? Your experiences are VERY much like mine at your stage in the game. I had a slight stricture and had to take an anti nausea pill as well as a pill that made my stomach seize and cramp every time I ate for about 3-4 months. I stayed on the full liquids stage for 2 weeks, and then pureed for about 3 more. I moved very slowly with food progression and was not able to tolerate more than a tablespoon at a time. I was almost a full year out before I could eat more than 600-800 calories a day or meet my Protein and Fluid goals. I would encourage you to STOP eating popcorn, chips and definitely candy. You are wasting a lot of valuable real estate when you put junk in your teeny tummy. Concentrate on Protein shakes and in one really soft protein at a time until you catch your rhythm. I loved chicken salad with extra mayo, crab cakes made with no bread, finely diced shrimp salad, guacamole and hummus on a spoon, refried Beans, soft scrambled eggs... Good luck to you. Wait. Is that a typo? You had surgery in 2014?? -

Cheated on Pre-Op Diet
LipstickLady replied to Frenchie1977's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you talked to your doctor about this? Have you considered how you are going to deal with stress once you've had the surgery and could do actual physical harm to yourself if you ignore the prescribed post op diet? Do you feel that you are mentally ready for this procedure and do you have a counselor who can help you stop eating your emotions? My questions are simply "food for thought" and not at all meant in a judgmental way. No need to answer the questions above out loud, simply think about what I've said. Best of luck to you. -
I am 3.5 years out and I posed the same question to my surgeon when I was cleared for all foods. He just looked at me like I was an idiot. I drink the broth and then eat the stuff to this day. My restriction is very tight to this day so if I drink right after I eat, I yarf. I love soup, but once I start the eating part, it's over for the broth.

Pain/fullness too soon when eating?
LipstickLady replied to leebick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Go with it. Enjoy it. Utilize it for maximum loss. My feeling of full after one or two tablespoons lasted a year or so. Great feeling. It's my new norm. -
Is it as simple as it looks to make? I poke the crap out of one with a fork, toss it in the microwave for 10-15 minutes depending on size, turn it over and nuke it for another five. (Put it on a paper plate for easier clean up.) Once it has caved, cut it in half, scoop out the seeds and then scoop out the strands. Add olive oil, salt, pepper, Parmesan or red sauce. Or, use it as the rice under stir fry. Delish.
