    Cigna gone crazy?

Just a quick follow up, my Dr's sent over paperwork on 7/2.....on 7/10 I called Cigna, and they said they just received it that day. When I emailed my dr's office, this is what they said: "When we open a request for authorization they send us a fax with a barcode and a fax number which directs it straight to a nurse case manager that reviews our request. So maybe it was sent to the nurse and scanned under your record for review yesterday" The good news.......for now.......The person at Cigna told me they would have a reply within 5 days.......I'm assuming that doesn't include weekends....... good luck to everyone.
  2. I'm not stressing over the pre-op....but maybe because I'm not there yet...........I've gone over with the NUT repeatedly what it consists of and, can I tell you, I'm a little jealous of those that get a meal? LOL
  3. I was watching your posts, too............so very, very happy for you....good luck on Monday!
  4. I have a biggie for next year...to wear my wedding band and fit into my wedding dress on our 30th anniversary......but there are so many things I'm looking forward to before I get to that point, and most of which have already been said by others.....cheers!
  5. well, good luck.......I'm still waiting myself for approval....Maybe next Tuesday.....after that I can get a date......wishing you well and hope you get an answer from the doctors today!

the procedure only took minutes......but we also did a lower GI, the 2 hours included going down there and getting hooked up, getting the IV in, etc.

    Endosocpy help!

Yup, I knew right away I had a hernia that needs attention......the H.Pylori test will take a few days.......my husband went with me until they wheeled me out......then he went home for a couple of hours, and they called him, and he was there when I woke up.....

    Endosocpy help!

I don't recall what they gave me, but definitely NOT general anesthesia......they called it twilight........I was talking to the doctor, and it was clear they were waiting on me....I closed my eyes, and the next think I knew I was in the recovery room LOL The best part of it (well besides not being aware of things).....was waking up refreshed, not groggy.....I've had outpatient surgery/procedures, and I've always asked for the twilight......I seem to surprise them, but I'd prefer that over general anesthesia any day....good luck....you'll do fine.
  10. you look fabulous! I cant believe all the changes in one month, wow! Thank you for sharing!
  11. This issue still plagues me......for now mum's the word......but as someone pointed out, people will probably figure it out on their own...I've been large too long.....

    Cigna gone crazy?

How many business days did it take for cigna to reply after paperwork was submitted? I started this process before the 90 day rule, so a bit anxious about that issue.....and it could be an issue......anxious to get approved & sleeved.....don't want to wait another month. Good luck!
  19. That's not unnecessary whining at all.....I don't think I'd have as much self control as you've shown. I can just see me stopping in for an update "because I was in the neighborhood" (ummm, it's about an hour away) LOL Good luck!
  20. Welcome, and Congrats to you both! Mine was submitted 7/2.....and I am waiting impatiently LOL
  21. I've read some of the posts about caffeine, and the caffeine issue seems to differ from doctor to doctor... I don't drink coffee or tea, and stopped drinking soda, so when the NUT & I had our caffeine discussion, I was thinking: Not a problem...I don't consume any, period. that was back in April.......however, I neglected to consider the iced tea I drink in the summer...... it has 10 calories and I believe 30 mg of caffeine. I mix it with 20-24 ounces of Water, and I sip it over a 4 hour period. (it's the 1/2 & 1/2 arnold palmer stix).....so I'm thinking each hour I'm taking in about 5-8 mg of caffeine.....and consume it once a day. It doesn't seem like a lot of caffeine, but I'm wondering.....is it too much to consume post op? Is any caffeine too much? What are your thoughts? (I'll go back to my NUT and ask her about this too) For a point of reference, the Mayo Clinic has the following on their page for 8 oz of coffee..... Generic Brewed coffee has 95-200 mg and Generic Brewed Decaf Coffee 2-12 mg (I assumed decaf had zero) Many thanks! EDITED: When I think about drinking this, I'm thinking down the road 6 months when our tummies are healed....thanks again!

    Caffeine Post Op

Absolutely.....it's not the caffeine, but the taste, and the convenience.....plus I have a boat load of them.....THANKS!
