Sherri, you're too funny! I did check the elastic on something and it was good.....but I was thinking about that, too....I have some gorgeous suits I used to wear to the office......If they are still in good condition, those are something I'd keep

Wow....that's incredible.....are you sure that's not a picture of your mother in the pool? I'm sure I'll be a wrinkly mess at goal weight LOL But you look just lovely!!! Thank you for sharing.

Open my own store, too funny. The original purpose was to pull them out, wash, dry, and hang them downstairs by size (we have a huge area for that)......however I didn't realize how much was up there...... About the hubby.....I didn't want him to come home and walk in on that mess in the hallway......I put it in the spare bedroom....I fessed up, showed him the piles of clothing...he just laughs at me.....I'll go through it...I did see sizes 20-14 (which I think would serve me well for a few months after surgery)....but who knows how dated they are LOL Thanks everyone!

Okay, bet you're sick of seeing my face here.....but, can we talk pre-op diet side effects? I have the worst gas.....oh my gosh.....thank goodness I"m home today....but seriously, it's soooooo bad....even I don't want to be around me LOL On the plus side, I have energy to burn.....I don't have caffeine w/d because I don't drink it (I don't avoid it....but I don't drink soda any longer, and not a tea nor coffee drinker.....thankful that's not a problem) Anyone else?

Down Over 140...Tools for Success
PGee replied to Writergirl's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thank you for sharing!!!! -
So, my NUT has stressed preop diet consists of 5 shakes, 1 Protein bar, and Clear liquids for 12 days, then 2 days clear liquids. I was not ready for what the doctor had to say today.....3 shakes a day, 2 cups of plain yogurt (100 calorie limit per cup), and clear liquids for 12 days....then2 days of clear liquids I'm going with the doctor's version.....but has anyone had such a discrepancy between Dr & NUT? They work together, she was the NUT they wanted me to see.....funny/odd though how they differ.....

The doubting game begins :/

When I first started this journey, it seemed every other day I was changing my mind about it.....somewhere along the way, I finally came to grips with it....still have a little anxiety over some things, but doing a pros/cons of WLS helped. Good luck! -
Wow, that's quick. Good for you.............congrats!!!!

Submitted! Wish me luck!

Best wishes to you both! Now, stay busy, it'll make the time go by faster -
I'm partial to the ready to drink Premier Protein drinks (160 cal, 30g, fat, low carb)....BUT I think their sodium is a little high. Dr's gave me Bariatric Advantage, chocolate.....mixed that with almond milk, unsweetened, vanilla flavor, and it was tolerable LOL I liked unjury chocolate...chicken flavor (takes like broth), and unflavored.....but not sure what their nutrition values are......did the dr make any recommendations? Welcome, and good luck! You might want to look for a thread....there are two of them asking about august sleevers......one of them lists members by date of surgery......cool to see how many are being sleeved the same day you are.....I'm one day behind you.....good luck!

There are a bunch of us....whoot whoot! I started today......3 BA shakes & 2 cups plain yogurt......kinda jealous of all you who get a meal LOL I didn't do anything differently food wise.....sad but true.... I picked up the filled syringes for the self administered blood thinner (for post op) and that freaked me out a little....not enough to lose sleep, that's for sure....it's just one of those things that has to be done. I'm looking forward to being a normal/healthy size....

Today was the pre-op with the surgeon, tomorrow the fun pre-op diet begins.....14 day count down...I have to make an appointment at the hospital tomorrow for pre-op testing. They gave me a prescription to fill for a blood thinner that I have to administer myself via a needle post op. Ummm, I hate needles....if they are given to someone else, I don't have a problem LOL So, this should be interesting. after looking at the syringes in the box, I just stared at them feeling a bit dumbfounded.....and started to shake.....seriously, this just got real. Holy Cwap! (substitute the W with an R if you like) LOL For a brief moment I got the "what the heck am I doing" feeling......but it was a fleeting thought....all the benefits of having WLS came rushing back, thank goodness! I'm definitely anxious, no doubt about it.....nervous energy.....and yes, I already have a few things packed for the hospital LOL Good night!

Actually surviving the clear liquid diet!
PGee replied to karpouzian's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've tried the vanilla unsweetened blue diamond almond milk, and like that a lot.....love that it has only 30 calories (another find via the VST board). -
Questions......it was a 3 page questionnaire, and basically anyone whose done their research should know.....like VSG is permanent.......honestly, that was one of the questions.......they want to make sure the patient has a clear understanding of what is going to happen pre-op, immediately after and long term as well as the 5 stages of post-op diet.....not to mention complications.....
-
So I am @ the drs....and they gave me a written test......I don't test well.....LOL wish me luck

Will the REAL pre-op diet stand up?
PGee replied to PGee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I first saw the term "nut" on the message board, I thought it was rude.....but my NUT said to call her a nut, and she was very funny about it. -
Maggie, it will be 3 shakes and 2C of yogurt (which is an improvement from what the NUT said LOL) and all the clear SF liquids I can handle....
-
Thanks! Well, the surgery is still on, so I guess I didn't do too badly.....but there was one question I just didn't know what they were fishing for......I had lots of answers, but just not sure the specific 3 answers they were looking for (oh, wait a minute, maybe that means it had math, and that's why I stumped me LOL) Now I've got more homework, and a guide I need to read....think they should have handed that out at the beginning of the process LOL
