Happy Birthday!!!! Since you're feeling 25 and looking great, I think that 2nd birthday should start with an age of 25!
-
You are doing great......if it gets too much, take a walk and just get out of there for a minute or two....it can help Good Luck!

I struggle to get in 64 ounces a day.....and so frustrating to be at the gym, thirsty and only get in 2 sips at a time rather than guzzle a more---I was drinking almost a gallon a day preop....can't wait for a few more weeks when it gets easier.
-
Any soup other than cream of chicken was forbidden during my full liquids......but not every NUT/dr specifies that..... I'm on the pureed stage and can only have the following cooked veggies: beets, carrots, peas, spinach, squash, tomatoes, mashed potatoes, pureed sweet potatoes....even cooked asparagus is out....but you should ask your nutritionist or surgeon's office. That being said, your recipe sounds yummie, and if it's on your approved list, as long as it can go through a strainer, it should be good......

I'm not worried about it......they want me to get down to 127.....I used to weight 110 into my early 20's...will be 50 soon.....I worry I won't be able to lose enough.....

"Hi, my name is George" - says my tummy - did you name your sleeve?
PGee replied to Pookeyism's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mine is Sally the B*tch LOL That first week she yelled, stomped her feet, was a real pain in the keester when just a trickle of cold Water went down.....made her presence known......what a brat LOL But now most day's she's just Sally.....I had just eaten the other day when I got a phone call, and Sally was singing away so loudly, that she could be heard on the other end of the cnversation....we had a good laugh -
Be honest - does anyone regret the surgery?
PGee replied to TvlGrl712's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 2 weeks out, and have not had complications nor any regrets....am glad I had it.....eating is still tough, I won't lie, but each day gets better. -
Wishing the best to all of our newly and soon to be sleeved siblings!!! May your surgeries go well and hope you have a quick recovery! SlimSistah, I had to do the blood thinner shots too......and I HATE needles.....thankfully that part is done, and it wasn't so bad. Tuesday I met the 2 week mark, and like Mich said, each day brings positive new changes....so happy for the sleeve, and have no regrets.....stomach still gurgles away, but it's getting quieter, on pureed foods, and eating is getting a little easier each day....wishing you all the same! The preop diet and clear liquids phase are a quickly fading memory.....good luck!

I can just say I'm jealous.....1) I can't drink but a few sips still, surgery was 8/6.....and 2) you are absolutely stunning! Welcome to VST!

I was stalled at that exact weight for 5 days....and I thought it was interesting rather than bothersome, too LOL

GamerGirl writes some of the best stuff.....I didn't want to lose this, so I'm keeping it on my "blog".......the 2nd week after surgery I had 5 days where my weight stayed the same......was it a stall? I didn't know and didn't care.......with everything I've read about VSG, I knew there would be bumps on this journey and not to get discouraged......but for more information, GG has posted some great reads below. What made you decide on VSG vs. other surgeries?
PGee replied to Scylla's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome! I'm newly sleeved, so my experience is very limited.......but I chose the sleeve because of the malabsorption issues with the gastric bypass--a family member goes to the hospital every week to get her nutrients via IV--and since our genetics are close, it's a consideration........and there are so many problems with the lap band that it wasn't worth considering IMHO With regards to NSAIDS, some doctors say they're okay and other doctors say it's not (due to causing ulcers, I think). I was taking NSAIDS every day.....so far I've lost about 30 pounds in this process, and feel much better....since surgery I haven't taken anything for pain.....not even a tylenol etc. for my knees. I'm two weeks out, very happy with my sleeve.......feel very fortunate---no pain, just some soreness the first few days...... I feel just the same as before surgery......until I eat, then it's a whole 'nother story LOL Good luck! -
I'm on pureed food, too....today will be the 2nd day.....and I can barely get down an ounce in 15-20 minutes.....I feel uncomfortable.

why do people hide it?

Char, I love your words! Good luck tomorrow....will look for you on the losers' bench! -
So many people here have skinny faces!
PGee replied to marfar7's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Marfar, I have often thought the same thing.....was wondering if I was the only one thinking it LOL And for those of us with a round face, it just keeps getting rounder with weight gain LOL -
What a difference a day makes

How exciting! -
welcome, and good luck!

SugarPop.....I'm probably down 12 pounds---haven't weighed myself today.....thought it'd be more, but I'm not worried about it.....we all lose at our own pace. Today was my first pureed food day.....and having a really tough time getting in even 1 ounce at a meal.....any one else?
-
Yay! I'm a pureed girl too today LOL Are you concerned about the mozzerella cheese? (I don't see why it would be a problem, but cheese isn't on my list of fodds) Breakfast was a scrambled egg.....couldn't get it all down, nor could I get the applesauce in......Over the weekend I made chicken marbella, froze it in individual serving sizes.....and kept a little bit out to puree today, yum.

why do people hide it?
PGee replied to KayCTheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When my sister had her surgery years ago, I was excited for her, overwhelmed with the speed of weight loss, and would constantly ask "how much did you lose this week?" I'm sure it was a pain in the rump, but she never complained, and everyone and their brother would ask her nonstop about her weightloss and question what she put on her plate. Four years ago my only child died.....and well meaning people concentrated on it..... 2 and 3 years later people still focused on it....and it was so hard to heal and continue on........I do not want people to focus on me, how much weight I lose, nor what I'm eating......it's no one's business.....and where I work, I'd get nothing done......so my hubby and above mentioned sister know, and that's it. -
I have the small bottles of G2, 12 ounces, 30 calories, 7g sugar (seems like a lot of sugar for post op)......some days I drink 1/2 of a bottle that's been diluted with an equal amount of water.................but was under the impression that's only while on liquids....once on real food, that will be a thing of the past. Good luck!
-
I read where someone had done it, and I got so mad----why go through this process and mess it up like that.....I couldn't understand. a few days later I did it once....not due to hunger, the need to chew nor head hunger......I was making dinner for my brother in law.....and wanted to make sure it was good.....so I took a single bite, and spit it out....rinsed, rinsed, rinsed out my mouth to make sure to little bits were still in there, then brushed just to make sure.....I felt so stupid for even doing this, but I couldn't let it go out of my house w/o knowing it was edible (it called for wine, and after pouring in the wine, I wasn't sure when it was opened or if it had gone bad) But I would not advise it, that's for sure....

I've been told the 30 minutes before and after rule as well. I recently went to a WLS support group and saw a demonstration explaining why....it's about being feeling satiated and prolonging how long the food stays in your stomach to keep you full longer. The demonstration included a bottle, funnel, and applesauce......the funnel was put over the bottle (the funnel represented your stomach) and applesauce went through it very slowly...remember we need to chew our food to applesauce consistency....they added a little bit of Water, and the applesauce came running out.. So, if we're drinking while eating, we will need more food to keep us satisfied and not feel hunger....possibly resulting in eating more that we should. That may simplify things a bit.....but seeing it as a visual was memorable.....HTH

5 days post op GAS AND DIARRHEA
PGee replied to dcmusicmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 2 weeks out...that first week on clear liquids I had to switch to 1/2 a bottle of isopure clear dilluted and water....that took care of the diarrhea. Good luck....you'll get through this. -
LadyBugg, it may be helpful to attend a support support group that includes both pre-op and post-op patients where you can have a one on one with people who have been there....another thing that might help if you haven't done it already is writing down your thoughts on the pros and cons of surgery Ladystl.....good luck today!
