  1. Happy 52nd Birthday Doreen!

  2. Hi everyone I've just found this forum and I'm really pleased because I've not told anyone about my surgery except my husband! I had my band fitted in January 2006 when I weighed 14 stones. I was getting married in September and managed to lose 2 stones for that date which was great, but I haven't really lost anything much since then and am now hovering just above 12 stones. I'd like to get to 10 (but would be thrilled with 11). My husband is great most of the time but keeps buying me chocolate for a 'treat' because he sees that I struggle with a lot of other food. Although I'm not losing weight at least I'm not putting any on either, although I do tend to eat small portions of 'proper' food then a big bar of chololate!!!:hungry:

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Hi everyone, I've just joined the forum and it's great. I had my band fitted in January 2006 in Bruges by Dr Dillemans, and no-one knows about it except my husband! It can get quite embarassing when eating out with friends but I'm managing to keep it quiet so far. I was 14 stones when I started and (even though I was paying myself) a lot of Drs in the UK were uncomfortable about doing the surgery for me because at 5' 7" I wasn't classed as morbidly obese. Eventually I went to Bruges and got excellent care (really good price too). It's been 16 months and I'm now hovering just above twelve stones - need to lose another two (although I'd be ecstatic to get to eleven!). :help:Question:- For the past two months or so I've been getting a bit of acidy reflux and a sore throat which seems constant. I've also had ear-ache which I went to my GP about and he has referred me for more tests. He didn't link the ear-ache with my op or the sore throat, but after reading some of the stuff on this forum I'm now wondering if I might have GERD?
