    First day of pre-op diet!

Day ONE liquid pre op!!! Woo woo!! I taste-tested a tiny amount of a bunch of shakes to see which tasted better with water or milk. I'm chillin out with a piña colada smoothie for supper! Yeahyado!!
  2. Ok, so how big of a deal is the surgery? Really. Is it a really big deal, or like... a medium big deal? I realize it means life changes, but is it really really the worst thing and hardest thing, ever??

    Pre Op Diet

I have 2 weeks low carb, (which I'm currently on week 2 and FAILING miserably...whimper) and then 1 week full fluids, one week clear fluids. Is this the same as you?
  5. Me too! How goes the pre op diets??
  6. Ok, so I'm supposed to be doing a 4 week pre op. 2 weeks high Protien/low carb (we've probably all done this diet a MILLION times before) then 1 week full fluids, and 1 week clear fluids. Well... I'm failing miserably. Week one was a fast food farewell tour. (again.) I'm now on my 2nd week and I can't get motivated!!! Do you think this will adversely affect my surgery? I have a low BMI to begin with, so it wasn't a requirement to lose weight for surgery. I won't cheat on the liquid phases, but have I already ruined my chances at a healthy recovery because I'm not following doctors orders?!
  7. Macy 6, Excellent points. 'Do it now.' 'Do it now.' I'll be repeating this as my new mantra. Thank you.
  8. Laura-ven , I watch your posts too! Haha! It's so hard to know, and maybe i'll take a bit of time to think it over. I have a difficult time with big life decisions anyway, but you may know that I've gained and lost 500lbs, and have a binge eating issue, so my current BMI is not a true reflection of what I will Probably weigh in 6 months... and I don't want to have the surgery at a BMI of 40+. I KNOW I want this. I'm ready to lose the weight for good and change my life. I think I'm just scared about the actual surgery. Which was more difficult: the surgery itself and recovery, or making the permanent life change?
  9. You're all absolutely right. Wow.... I actually think I'm feeling depressed/anxious about HAVING the surgery. So I eat. Everyone on here sounds so excited about it, and I WAS at first... or at least excited about the idea of it...but now that i'm only 3 weeks out, its for real! I'm scared and not looking forward to it at ALL. I'm also worried about how soon I can return to work afterwards, and if it will be 'as big of a deal' as it seems in my head. Is it really a big deal? Is it really aweful? I know it's worth it, but the fear of the unknown is killing me! (or at least sabatoging my pre op efforts.) haha!

    Syntrax Nectar Protien Shakes

I liked the nectar Caribbean cooler... Blended with ice and milk, it's a piña colada!
  14. You're absolutely right. Excellent point.

Canadian off to Mexico in May

My order from low carb grocery just arrived! Got 'nectar' brand Protien , piña colada and peach flavors! They're pretty yummy! More like juice when mixed with water and I've heard the lemonade flavor is good too!

Canadian off to Mexico in May

I'm from Alberta! On my way to LIMARP in TJ, mex on May 14! Currently FAILING my first week of 'detox' preop....
  17. I have to believe (at least from what I've heard) it won't be 'like this' forever... we need a veteran to chime in and offer up some words of wisdom!!
  18. This is exactly how I'm feeling... I'm on week one of 4 week diet, (2weeks high protien, 2 weeks fluids) and I'm feeling SO much anxiety... As I'm sitting in the DRIVE THRU today I'm saying to myself, you're not hungry. You're stressed. You want to eat this to relieve stress. And then I did. ugh.
  19. I ordered a bunch of different shakes online from Unjury and Nectar from low carb grocery, and did a few taste tests to see which ones are better with water or milk. I'm supposed to be on a high protein/low carb diet for 2 weeks, then one week full fluids and 1 week clear liquids. I'm struggling to get started on week one.... yikes.
