This week I am starting 2 have my follow up appointments & I went to the 1 of the doctors 2day. Now when I 1st went I couldnt be weighed on their scale because it only went up to 500lbs & as all of u know I was 526lbs. Well 2day, when he called my name I was thinking omg, Im still not going 2 be able 2 give my weight. So the nurse said just put all of ur things dwn & lets see. So I did & I got on that scale WITH MY SHOES ON & it read 497lbs smh. Yall have no idea, how that made me feel. I know EVERY scale dont go up 2 (500lbs) but I can actually get weighed like a normal person...all I could do is cry. Most ppl dont have 2 worry about that kinda stuff but I do & it made my day 2 see my weight come accross that screen EVEN THO its still alot it came accross that screen & thats ALL that matters 2 me.

Hi, I'm 2 weeks post-op, I live in Athens but had surgery at crestwood in Huntsville with Dr Foreman. 20# down so far, started at 241, now I'm at 221! Stoked about it so far! Hoping that my journey continues to be a smooth one!!

Three(ish) weeks seems so insignificant, and I am going to try my hardest not to dwell on the time but I am very excited because I had my 6th appointment for my 6 month physician supervised weight loss program. It has been a long six months, and yet and it has flown by! It takes around a week for them to get my paper work submitted, and about a two week turn around. I met my surgeons goals, I have read every book, and watched every documentary that has been thrown at me. I have been actively involved in different forums, and support groups within my community. I don't feel there is anything more I could have done. I hope the insurance company sees my diligence and feels the same way!

I finally did it!!!! I completed my six month weight observation, per my insurance, now my paper work has been sent in!!!! Now I'm just patiently waiting...ok maybe impatiently waiting for my approval!! I can't wait!!!

Mine was submitted last Wednesday so I am right there waiting with you. Patience is not my friend these days.

Oh I love this thread!! Here is my list:
1. Be able to ride comfortably in my car, with the seat belt on!
2. Be able to buy something I love, not just something that fits.
3. Unpack all my old clothes!
4. Purchase a new mattress and get rid of the one I purchased last year that has ready "sunk in" on my side.
5. My husband be able to pick me up.
6. Go hang out with the other mommy's without feeling like I take up the whole table.
7. Wear boots!! Real knee high sexy boots!!
8. Buy a pair of nice designer jeans!
9. Take my daughter to Disney world and the beach!
10. Be able to wear my wedding rings!! I love them so much but I never wanted to have then sized.

In no particular order
1. Be able to play outside with my four year old for longer than 5 minutes.
2. Not tell my wife for one whole day that it is too hot!
3. Buy clothes from wal-mart (wow, that sounds like I'm one of 'those people')
4. 'Experiment' with my wife
5. Go swimming without a shirt on.
6. Do any kind of non-sedentary activity for more than ten minutes.
7. By clothes without an x in the size.
8. Enjoy thing like going to the zoo, fair, museum, outdoors, etc. because I enjoy walking.
9. Fly a kite by running.
10. Not be tied to the couch/computer chair all evening.
11. Sit down in my tub, and not move to one side to let the Water pass.
12. Take a long relaxing shower and not get out after 5 min because standing hurts.
13. Have underwear that fits right.
14. Not be self conscious about having my picture taken.
4. I want to have clothes that reflect my style and not what I coud find that would fit me. (Stolen)
16. Not be embarrassed to post my photo on a weight loss surgery website (how stupid is that?)
I'm sure I'll add more...

here is my list. I numbered them but they are in no special order.
1. Be able to ride roller coaster.
2. Be able to see my manhood with out it standing at attention.
3. Ride a horse
4. Climb a tree
5. Repell
6. Run
7. Play at the park and tire my kids out.
8. Fly comfortably in an airplane
9. Be able to find my size in any store
10. Give up cpap machine

It's more than likely dermabond, it's basically surgical superglue. My advice don't remove it, we apply it in surgery many times to help the wound stay sealed and free from infection. It will slowly wear off, and it's a lot better than steri-strips. Also if removed to soon, your incision could become weak and sometimes lead to a nasty scar. Hope this helps and good luck!

To those offput by this post, please allow me to offer my apologies. We are working very hard to stop the negativity and make VST a friendly, supportive community. I feel things have gotten better recently, and we are continuing to work at eliminating the "nastiness and venom" as some of you have put it. However, we can only do this with your help. VST is a large community, and Alex and I manage it basically with just the two of us. Therefore, please report posts that you feel are inappropriate or a violation of forum rules, and we will respond.

it's posts like this that make this place less than comfortable, or useful. I'm new to this forum, but was on www.lapbandtalk.com for years. we had some of the bitchyness, but it seems to be more negative here than useful. I'm not sure I even want to stick around here. I joined 3 sleeve forums, and this one seems to be the most nitpicky, snarky and the people here seem quick to judge others on everything from their food choices, to their choice of their doctor. it's sad, really.

I have not had surgery yet, but people are always coming up to me and asking how I get such long, thick, and shiny hair...I would look at them seriously and say I stick to a strict diet (bahhaha), then snicker as I am waddling away

Thanks everyone! After speaking with my husband and family. I'm going to go ahead with my surgery...my family said what will be, will be, and I need to take care of myself and get healthy!!

Thank you for the information! I had considered lapband because two of my friends had it preformed and have done very well, but after speaking with one of them today, he said that if the sleeve had been offered to him years ago, then he would have chosen the sleeve, that way he could consume normal food without complications. I think I have made my decision to go with the sleeve.

Also I was really unaware that it decreased your hunger pains!
