Waiting on insurance approval!
need2bthin! replied to need2bthin!'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not sure how long it takes...some people I have spoken with get theirs approved within 48-72 hours. I wonder what's the longest someone has had to wait.....ugh!! LOL but as they say good things come to those who wait -
10 things I can't wait to do
need2bthin! replied to Dualstarr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh I love this thread!! Here is my list: 1. Be able to ride comfortably in my car, with the seat belt on! 2. Be able to buy something I love, not just something that fits. 3. Unpack all my old clothes! 4. Purchase a new mattress and get rid of the one I purchased last year that has ready "sunk in" on my side. 5. My husband be able to pick me up. 6. Go hang out with the other mommy's without feeling like I take up the whole table. 7. Wear boots!! Real knee high sexy boots!! 8. Buy a pair of nice designer jeans! 9. Take my daughter to Disney world and the beach! 10. Be able to wear my wedding rings!! I love them so much but I never wanted to have then sized. -
3 Month Surgeon Supervised Diet
need2bthin! replied to mynewjourney13's topic in Insurance & Financing
Every insurance is different but mine required to actually complete the last month, so that would probably put you into August. -
It's more than likely dermabond, it's basically surgical superglue. My advice don't remove it, we apply it in surgery many times to help the wound stay sealed and free from infection. It will slowly wear off, and it's a lot better than steri-strips. Also if removed to soon, your incision could become weak and sometimes lead to a nasty scar. Hope this helps and good luck!

I'm interested in doing crossfit after my surgery. Has anyone tried this and what were your results? Did you have any complications and how soon did you start after surgery?

I have not had surgery yet, but people are always coming up to me and asking how I get such long, thick, and shiny hair...I would look at them seriously and say I stick to a strict diet (bahhaha), then snicker as I am waddling away

1st Appointment Today/ Blue Shield PPO
need2bthin! replied to kris1189's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have BCBS highmark, I am in the last month of my 6m supervised diet, my weight has yo-yo back and forth. My insurance said my BMI had to stay above a 40 the entire time, I am a 41BMI so I really couldn't lose a lot. I had blood test, psych eval, TNE scope, and monitored diet by my dr. I file all the papers next month, so fingers crossed!! -
Why are so many people disappointed when they "only lose" this and that much weight?
need2bthin! replied to Sweetcarol238's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I very much agree with you! I'm a newbie and granted love reading the success stories, but realistically everyone is different. I know some people will probably disagree with me, but I could care less about the scale. I want to be healthy!!! I want to be able to walk without being short of breath, and play outside with my daughter. As long as i am fit, and healthy that's all that really matters. I know it's hard work but with this tool I can accomplish some realistic goals -
Hi Everyone! I'm new here and I am almost finished with my 6m pre-op supervised nutrition program. Today I went to see my Dr. he told me he wanted me to research the sleeve. I had been set on the lapband now I'm not sure. Could you guys please give me some advice

What meal replacement shakes did you use before surgery? I'm not required to do any pre-op diet but I'd like to try the shakes and see if I could loose a lil weight before surgery. Thanks!!

One week post op and only lost 5lbs!?!
need2bthin! replied to lovedlov's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had surgery yet so I can't speak from experience, but I do work in the medical field.I know your body is going through a healing process and you could have some fluid retention. But on the brighter side you lost 5lbs!!!! That's great!!
