How long does the drain site cause pain for? I am 8 days post op and I have zero.pain except in and around my drain site, its a constants, sometimes excruciating pain... still keeping me on pain killers and therefore not allowing me to drive!! I just thought with everything else I had done (sleeve, hernia repair and gallbladder removed) this should be the last thing giving me grief...am I wrong??

Sharp Chest Pain & Blurry Vision - Post op 5/20/13
Troby replied to CrazySix's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It hurt me at 1st also.. Try something other than water, crystal light for example .. Or sugar free Popsicle - maybe even I've chips. My gas was awful-- it hurt in my shoulders right down to my backside! Keep walking , and when sitting Try to keep moving your legs up into your belly to move it.. It will get better - good luck -
I was sleeved 4/10 and am down 43lbs since then (weight surgery say was 300) .. I was at a stall for about 3 weeks. In that time I was almost hospitalized for dehydration, also making me notice I wasn't eating enough.. Since recovery from that I get in all my liquid, eat about 800 calories a day including 50-60 g of protein... 1st week of doing that I broke the stall and lost 4 lbs. although it is discouraging at times we can't give up- IT WILL HAPPEN!!

I Want My Stomach And My Money Back! (J/k)
Troby replied to Butterflylegacy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so glad to hear that we are all going through the sale thing.. I was definitely beginning to get frustrated as I stopped at 37 lbs and I'm 4 weeks Tomm.. Sounds to be the same time for all of us- I am also beginning to thing my body is going into starvation mode however BcI just can't seem to eat- it does nothing for me and when I force myself it hurts.. -
I actually smoked up until 10 days before my surgery and if I wasn't severely sick that day (4/1) I would probably still smoke today.. However I can tell you that my lungs went 'flat' after surgery- the r n's couldn't get any respirations out of my upper lungs and I was VERY short of breath.. 24 hrs later and a lot of work I was ok but I always wonder if it would've been worse if I were still smoking.. Not a major complication however a little scary :-/

Will do.. Please let me know if you have any questions .. Good luck!

Honestly, I didn't want my insides rearranged if I didn't need to. The sleeve is just as successful and allows you to actually keep the nutrients you put in your body , unlike the bypass. Just my opinion.

Troby replied to cynthia t's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 4/10.. So almost a month & I am down 37.5... I was down 35 at 3 weeks though so def slowed however I really don't eat much at all and cant exercise yet- went for a couple walks but can't do much -
I was sleeved Wed, 4/10... had my gallbladder out and large hernia repaired also. Doing fine emotionally but can't seem to eat it drink nearly enough - I have no interest.... I would rather sleep, which is totally not me- I'm not a Napper at all, I'm a very busy, active person ... Is this normal?
-
Oh wow! Every insurance / surgeon us different.. But it sounds like you're in good shape???? I had mine done April 10th. I also had my gall bladder out and a lg. hernia repaired at the sane time . I'm down 37 lbs since surgery! I'm so glad I did it but there's so much I didn't know !

I'm still trying.. Food simply does nothing for me right now. I'm just about 4 weeks post op and still haven't had anything of substance really.. Definitely not getting enough protein but doing good on liquids . My body is still very tired but other than that I feel ok
