Whos in September? We need some September buddies!
Cocopuff88 replied to janie2024's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's awesome. I work at a plus size clothing store and I've seen MANY customers get the different surgeries. I've seen them lose weight and gain so much confidence. When they come in and tell me they can shop in the regular stores now, I always say that I will miss them but I'm so proud of how far they've come. Then they tell me they'll always come back and just wear the smallest size. Haha Suuuure. The only complaint I've really heard was the skin but they didn't seem all that upset about it. Oh and they're not shy to show me. Scars, loose skin, saggy britches and all. Actually had a new customer come in that had the sleeve in April and is down 62 pounds! She said not to be scared, you're in and out, and it will be the best thing you ever do for yourself. Her husband is 18 months out and looks phenomenal. She said they wasted so much time going out to eat. Now they go on so many adventures and even bought a motorcycle! She even told me to call her to let her know how I was doing. I love meeting people like that. -
Well, I guess this is going to be my gastric sleeve story.

That's 6 pounds you won't have to lose post op!! I'm not losing a ton but I'm happy with whatever. My new philosophy is as long as its going down I don't care the number. -
Why am I not seeing any difference?

When I took phentermine awhile back I lost 50 pounds and still wore the same clothes. Like everyone here already said, the only thing you can do is give it time to catch up. -
Drinking the blue raspberry right now! I totally get the after taste comment. I hope I can stomach them after.

Whising i started making changes before liquid diet!

Follow your surgeons plan! You don't want your liver damaged or to be closed up because they can't perform the surgery safely. Pretty please -
It's a clear liquid Protein so you don't have the thickness of the shakes. It's 40g of protein. Lots of flavors. I like the coconut. I second that, they are expensive and just buy one at a time

Are you getting a new driver's license or work ID since losing weight or once you reach goal?
Cocopuff88 replied to buplee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Oh, and my weight on my licence is my goal weight anyway. What a liar I am hahaha the DMV guy just stared blankly at me. -

I struggled up until last night. It was like flipping a switch. It does get easier. I even held a melting cupcake my kid was eating in my hand yesterday without licking a finger! Lol I didn't even realize until I looked down and thought "wow, normally I would have eaten this before my son came back for it". I still wasn't tempted by it and enjoyed my protein and veg happily. I'm actually craving those veggies right now -
Tomorrow is the big day!
Cocopuff88 replied to OBXgirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ahhhhhhh! How exciting! You'll do just fine. No worries! All the worrying won't change a thing about your surgery! Just gotta trust you're in good hands and everything is gonna be alright. Maybe try to go to bed early so you can't think about it haha that's my plan -
What are you looking forward to?

I'm going to be using my tax return to buy all new clothes! I would Loooove to go back to Europe and not have horrible swollen legs from all the walking. Great idea! -

Pre-Surgery Pain Relievers?
Cocopuff88 replied to CajunLadyB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a horrible headache yesterday that I just gritted my teeth through lol I was too scared to take anything. I would say call your surgeons office first. Until then, I feel your pain! -
Not a good idea early out. I agree with the above poster. You wouldn't want to put the baby at risk because you're not getting proper nutrition in the beginning. My surgeons office actually wants us to wait 2 years out. Some are shorter but I would never try while my body is recovering from something so major. Pregnancy is very major to your body as well.

Sept. 10th Sleevers in Chicago Area?
Cocopuff88 replied to kamero's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Started pre op diet today! Not too bad at all. I get to have 2 lean cuisine type meals per day, protein shakes, and fruit/veg. I'm concerned about the amount of sodium but I'm going to follow doctors orders. I think I'm past the nerves part until the actual surgery day. Trying to keep busy. Ten days will fly by! -
Glad you are feeling better! I love egg drop soup all day, any day. I didn't even think about it post op. Thanks!

Sept. 10th Sleevers in Chicago Area?
Cocopuff88 replied to kamero's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I think with dedication and being honest with ourselves, we will do just fine with the sleeve. He also asked if I was planning on having any more children. I picked the sleeve over ds bc I was concerned about vitamin levels. If I do get pregnant again, I don't want that to be an issue. I'm also concerned about skin bc I do not want to have another surgery. I'd rather just cling wrap myself everyday lol -
I'm excited for you too!!! I know everything is going to go great for you. Please let us know how you're feeling whenever you get the chance.

Sept. 10th Sleevers in Chicago Area?
Cocopuff88 replied to kamero's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
With the amount of weight I have to lose he said normally he would suggest ds, but my first question was "how long until I can workout hardcore??" Lol he said I seemed really motivated and he thought I could lose any additional weight by being diligent about diet and exercise. I've never been so excited about anything except the birth of my son! This is kind of like the rebirth of me! -
Well, I guess this is going to be my gastric sleeve story.

Good. Nice and early. That means its more likely to be on time lol I don't want to wait nervously! -
Sept. 10th Sleevers in Chicago Area?

Thank you! Sorry you couldn't get the class you wanted. She said they do fill up very fast since there are so few of them. I did the prep class the 12th and this class was a nutritional and paperwork day. They also draw blood for Vitamin levels there if you haven't already done it. My date is Sept 10th. You'll get your date soon don't worry! It actually happens very fast but it does seem like a lot of hurry up and wait. Really take this time to set yourself up mentally and physically. You'll be glad you did.
