sleeve and weight watchers
Jessica H replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think any of those is good for the sleeve, from what I've been taught. I'm going to follow whatever I have to, according to my surgeon. I don't want to screw up this surgery -
Depends on the physician. I have a 2 week liquid diet. You'd think it'd be the same across the board!

sleeve and weight watchers
Jessica H replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon said WW isn't appropriate for the sleeve. She has a patient 9 mos p/o and has stretched her stomach out by eating the 'free' foods. -
Frustrated and disappointed
Jessica H replied to nakole73's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My surgery was supposed to be scheduled 90 days after my first visit. I started in Nov 2012. Thanks to my surgeon taking extra time after having her baby, my surgery is May 6th. Mine was doubled and I was very unhappy. However, it did give me extra time to prepare myself and my body for this journey. It'll fly by. Good luck!! -
People at work call me the calorie police. I know it's none of my business, but when they complain about gaining weight... I too, just care about the people around me.

I heard the same thing Vix.

My last days of food...
Jessica H replied to Jessica H's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks, Vix! Happy to know there are others that feel that way too. And I think you're right about the abusive part. It has held me back and controlled my life for so long, I won't know how to act when it's not a huge part of my life anymore. I almost cried at Target today when I was stocking up for my liquids. And my daughter had donuts, oatmeal cream pies and other crap in the cart. It's going to be a hard 2 weeks! I work for a doctor's office and we're always showered with cookies, cupcakes, ice cream, donuts, etc. And I have a drawer for food at my desk. I have to remember not to reach in and grab something! Guess I should clean that out come Monday, so there's no chance of me slipping. These 6 mos have flown by... hope the next 2 go fast too! -
So far it has been way too easy... Should I be scared?
Jessica H replied to Ana87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It really is this easy! My surgery is in 3 weeks. I was approved within the same week my documents were presented. Right now, it still seems surreal, until I'm being wheeled into the OR. I can't wait for my surgery and good luck with your journey! -
Went to our county fair a couple years ago and I couldn't get out of the Scrambler ride. I was so incredibly embarrassed as the guy running the ride had to help me get out. Everyone was staring as I exited, because I was the last one out. Needless to say, I didn't get on anything else and just watched my daughter have a good time.

What do you look forward to post-op?
Jessica H replied to ShayLeigh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm looking forward to - doing more things with my 10 yr old daughter, my knee/hip pain going away, not having anymore fat rolls that my belt cuts into, not shopping at Lane Bryant, getting out of breath while walking upstairs, riding the coasters at Six Flags, fitting thru a turnstyle and hopefully falling in love with a great guy! My next 35 years are going to be FANTASTIC!! -
Here's my advice for pre-op - follow what your doctor says, it'll be helpful in the long run. Mine put me on a 1200 calorie diet. It was hard at first, but I got used to it. I use MyFitnessPal to track everything. I like seeing what I eat, how many calories I can burn with exercise, etc. You become more conscious of what is going into your body. I originally had a 90 day wait for insurance, but turned into 6 mos because my surgeon had a baby and took extra time off. My surgery is scheduled for May 6th. Gotta keep strong!

Need Motivation and Advice
Jessica H replied to starsleeve's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Actually, you can get an upper GI to confirm the size of your stomach.
