Tmi sorry but need help
Jessica H replied to debraeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just over 4 months out and I'm having the opposite problem. I feel like I'm living on laxatives and Miralax. I'd rather be pooing my brains out! -
It's common to stall. I haven't experienced it myself, but I'm sure it'll happen to me one day. Don't get frustrated and stay positive!

s I bought baby food and my surgeon told me not to eat it. The fruits are loaded with sugar and the meat tastes terrible. I just chewed food very well.

My first pair of skinny jeans - size 14!! -
I get in between 700-800 calories a day with a restriction of 40 grams of carbs. I've continually lost every week and track everything in MFP. I exercise daily and make sure I get in my 60-80 grams of protein also. Maybe your fat intake is too much, along with your sodium? Don't get discouraged, I bet your body will surprise you soon enough! Stay positive

How many calories/carbs per day?
Jessica H replied to vsginkc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat anywhere from 500-700 a day and I'm restricted to 40 carbs a day, per my surgeon. I'm nearly 4 mos post-op. If I'm hungry, I eat more, but I keep my carbs low. -

My 21st is in a couple weeks, and im 3 weeks postop. Whats the general consensus on alcohol, here?
Jessica H replied to robocop12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was advised no alcohol for one year. Consult your surgeon. Alcohol isn't worth the pain to me... -
Thank you very much!

I keep them at 40 or less, per my surgeon. It's very hard. Today I'm over by 3, but I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I had a bad week at work and even worse day today, so it's stressing me out. I rode 9.5 miles on the bike in 30 mins today to work out some aggression and burned off everything I ate!

I pretty much eat what I want. I can't say I 'cheat' per se, but I have the occasional Cheeto, a fun size candy bar or an Oreo, if my carbs allow me. I eat a lot of meat and cheese and still have my protein shakes. I have given up bread and rice and eat very little pasta (whole grain only). I had a 1/4 cup of Fruity Pebbles the other day and that was enough to fill me up I don't feel like I'm restricted from the type of food, just the amount I eat. I was sleeved on 05/06/13 and I'm 52 lbs down!

Hours away, but why
Jessica H replied to muneca1029's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt the same way. In fact, I felt like it wasn't going to work, I was gonna die before it happened or something with insurance was going to fall thru last minute. But here I am, 3 mos out and 52 lbs down What you're feeling is normal. You won't regret it!! Good luck -
1 year and could NOT be HAPPIER!

Amazing, congratulations! I'm at 52 lbs lost and feel fantastic too! I am much more happy and wish I would've done this sooner! -
Sleeved 7/22 & Struggling!'
Jessica H replied to amsenegal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At that point, I was eating scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, refried beans and everything that was on my preop diet. Try to get some fiber chews and miralax. You're not having a regular BM because you're not putting much into your body. Incorporate some of the foods I first mentioned. You may not be able to eat much of them, but it's a start. Don't worry about getting in the required 60-80 grams of protein, that will come in time. Staying hydrated is the most important. Sugar free popsicles are good too! Good luck! -
Cheating on Pre-op diet !
Jessica H replied to darleenmr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't be so hard on yourself! I cheated 3 days in because I had the worst headache. The doctor's office said it was fine to have some scrambled eggs. After that I got back on track. You're doing the best you can, doesn't mean you're going to fail after surgery! Good luck -

1 month out and I feel like I have no sleeve
Jessica H replied to richj242's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 8 weeks out and my eyes are still bigger than my stomach. I can tolerate 4-6 oz (depends on the food) at a time. However, some things seem to go down easier than others and that scares me! When I get full, I get a knot in my chest, not necessarily my stomach telling me to stop. At that point, I can't get anything else down. Keep your portions small and don't over eat. You can stretch out your sleeve in less than a year. Maybe fill up on protein drinks instead and keep your carb intake low (I'm restricted to 40 a day). Always call your doc with any concerns or suggestions. Good luck! -
I was back on my preop diet the week I went home. I had yogurt and jello. I didn't have any issues, just couldn't eat but maybe a couple spoonfuls at a time. You'll get there! I'm 8 weeks post op and feeling great! I'm down 41 lbs and have no restrictions. Although, I'm still afraid of bread and I haven't tried rice. I'm on a strict 40 grams of carbs a day though and that's hard! Good luck to you

I've had Tums with no problem. Maybe you need something like Pepcid instead. I was given liquid form for 30 days after surgery. I haven't had to rely on the Tums as much. You're probably experiencing indigestion, rather than a tummy ache. Good luck!
