Ugh! Isn't it a terrible feeling? I think I cried my heart out at about 5/6 days post op. The nausea just would not stop! I was sleeved on May 20th, 2 weeks tomorrow and YES, it does get better. Each day gets easier. I'm still not getting protein in since all shakes made me gag, but I'll try again tomorrow. Hang in there!!

Thanks guys! I did order some unflavored protein to put in the things I can have. I'm not allowed cottage cheese yet. I can have yogurt and pudding. Canned or store broths just make me gag, but I have some homemade chicken broth that's going down easy. I really am pushing the fluids and walking and haven't felt the nausea since the last post! Yay! Hope it continues..

It's been days since I've tried a shake. I'm afraid of dehydration and ending up back in the hospital, but the nausea.. Even with zofran doesn't go away. It's clearly not as bad as it once was, but the thought of shakes just makes me want to get sick. What did others do to get through this phase? I keep telling myself it gets better.

I have to admit I haven't done much since surgery. I had a ton of nausea, was lightheaded, and just plain felt like crap! I've been telling myself to suck it.. So far so good. Lol. Anyway.. Protein shakes are a complete turnoff. I want to gag just thinking of them. I haven't had a lot of fluids either, all things I'm focusing on today whether I like it or not. I just want to eat real food, but know I'm not allowed yet. Ps.. Lost 9lbs and actually got a little nervous. Lol

They approved me and quickly. I didn't have any other issues other than a high bmi. Everyone says it takes so long sometimes for insurance approval, so I was excited when I heard so soon, like 3 or 4 days I think.

Well that's good to know, I look like I have a sunburn on my face. I thought I might have a had. Fever, but temp was normal range.

I was sleeved on 5/20/13 too. I'm sore, but walking and moving around. Liquids are hard, only 22oz today, but that beats the days before so it gets better day by day. I have to remember to get some rest and nap if I need to. So far so good! Incisions have the glue stuff on them and they are starting to itch! Blaaah lol

I had a catheter for a day, surgery was on Monday, Tuesday catheter came out, painless. Had a drain tube until Wednesday morning. It was gross and tucked it in my pocket lol. Unfortunately for me, it did hurt coming out, felt pressure and also a weird feeling. Good news it takes like 5 seconds to take out and you're good.

Good luck ladies! I had my surgery on Monday, It wasn't smooth for me, but each day gets better. Try to keep that in mind.

Woohoo! Less than 24 hours now! Can't wait to be on the losers side and healing. I'm excited now, but by tonight I will probably be all nerves.

Mine said the same thing.

Give your doc a call, maybe switch to lactaid milk. I hear a lot of people turn lactose intolerant for a few months after surgery. I just got sleeved on Monday so I don't try my milk things until lunch so I can be sent home if that goes well.

I made it! I couldn't update yesterday, it was not a good day for me. I had terrible gas pains and nausea to boot. I could only walk 3 times yesterday due to the dizziness and dry heaving. Wow, that was a bad day and I'm glad it's behind me now! It does get better as each hour passes. Surgeon said everything went good. I think I will be getting off the oxygen and catheter today, that should help me feel more human again. I hope everybody else was a success and that they are feeling good! Good luck to all going in tomorrow! I hope it goes smoothly for y'all. And the ones today, I hope you guys are doing great. Today was a complete turn around for me. Pain lessened, walking more, gas pains still coming and going, but I'm aware of what they are now and not having a panic attack that something is wrong. When I drink my water, my stomach gurgles I guess you could say, it's weird. I'm not feeling any crazy restrictions when drinking, I just get nervous about how much to take in. I still have an IV, but gotta sip so I can go home tomorrow. Oh yeah, have a drain tube still and I hate it, looks so gross. Well, off to nap for a bit before these nurses come and bother me again. Lol

Getting sleeved shortly. Getting ready to head out the door and the nerves hit me and my emotions are through the roof! I will be fine, but it's a crazy ride.. Mini emotional breakdown in 3..2..1.. Lol

Thank you.. I'm here now.. In my gown that hooks up to some heating thing to keep me warm.. Weird, but okay lol.. It's really happening. Ahhhh!
