  1. I'm San Antonio adjacent from Stockdale - about an hour away.
  2. I'm curious, what birth control methods are you ladies using? My doc said the pill is not proven effective after surgery, but that and spermicidal condoms are the only things I've ever used. Any recommendations?

    birth control after sleeve?

Thanks everybody! I should say what the doctor told me was that there were no studies done to show hat the pill was AS effective after surgery. I've been thinking of doing the shot. Thanks, y'all!
  4. I'm not a big drinker, but when I go out with friends, I do like to enjoy a drink or two. I am three weeks post surgery. I am going to a concert soon (I will be almost six weeks post surgery by then). I would just like to have a margarita or two with my friends. Do you think I'm pushing it? Has anyone else had a drink that soon after surgery that could give me some advice?
  5. Well, I ignored all of your great advice and had two margaritas. I drank them slooooowly. I felt a tiny little buzz for a few minutes at one point, but it wore off quickly. I didn't react to the sugar, or really even to the alcohol. I still lost a pound a day the whole week. I definitely won't be drinking a lot, but I won't be freaking out about it anymore either. And FYI - my doctor told me that it is ok to take ibuprofen or aspirin SHORT TERM when necessary - it doesn't have to be completely cut out forever. (I asked for that time-of-the-month) and he said not to suffer, but to try and not take a lot. Thanks everybody!
  6. Thanks gals - this helps a lot. My surgeon said at least a year or never again...but that isn't going to cut it. I have told all of my friends about my surgery and they are very supportive, so they will understand if I don't drink, and I don't enjoy it enough to get addicted, just hate to miss out on the social aspect, I suppose. Funnily enough, I'm not even missing my sodas, which I thought I was addicted to, so carbonation isn't a problem for me! I may try a few sips of wine in a few more weeks and see how that goes, but I will definitely try it at home first. Thank you all so much!

    Dreaded 3-week stall?

I am so glad to see that you all posted this! I am three weeks out from my surgery - and between the two weeks prior to surgery diet and post surgery, I had lost 28 pounds - it was FLYING off, but this week I've barely lost 0.8!! I was starting to think that something was wrong with me! I'm drinking the water like crazy, sticking to the suggested foods list, and exercising as much as I can, but the scale wasn't moving. I was starting to freak out - thank you SOOOOOO much for your posts! Light at the end of the tunnel
