Good morning fellow sleevers!! I woke up this morning feeling like a new person. I have really been going thru an emotional roller coaster since surgery. Depression because I really missed all my comforts that food has brought. Angry because I was hungry and frustration because I'm still trying to gauge what is actually a sip. But today I looked at myself in the mirror and realized my face is slimming and my legs are looking normal and less like tree trunks!! This was the best and smartest decision I've ever made. My life is in such a good place and my support team is awesome!! My family has changed their eating also and my 5 year old is very conscious of good food and bad. I Luv it!! HW 363 SW 348 CW 330

Any ladies out there have PCOS put your hands up!
wynk11 replied to Red_lips_and_confidence's topic in The Gals' Room
Hi ladies! I too have PCOS. I was diagnosed when I was 20. My doctor told me if I didn't have kids by 30 I never would. My hubby and I tried for 6 years and it never happened so by 30 I gave up. At 32 I decided it was time to lose weight I had gotten up to 335 lbs!! I lost 40 lbs and was really proud of myself (not to mention how cute I was) lol. 2 months after the weight loss by baby boy came on the seen!! I was lucky because I only gained 15 lbs wit my pregnancy!! Now 5 years later I was back up to 363 lbs. I had surgery on 4/29 and I'm down to 324 lbs. My periods hav always been irregular well actually none existent. But it came a few days ago and I'm hoping this isn't regular. That was the only part of PCOS I ENJOYED!! Lol I guess there are different PCOS symptoms in everyone because I didn't have migraines or hair growth. We figured out it was hereditary because my mom had it as well and she was on the other end of the spectrum, too small. She had me at 33 and that was the first time she weighed over 100 lbs!! So go figure!! Good luck to you all!! -

3 days post op and the pain is still severe
wynk11 replied to Whodatcat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take the Lortab. You won't get hooked if your taking it for what it is intended. You just had major surgery of course your in pain. I am 8 days post op and I used all the way up til day 5 or 6. I jus started takin it less and less each day until I was comfortable. Don't torture yourself because of fear of addiction. Besides your body needs to rest and stressing over pain will not allow your body to rest therefore slowing its healing. You'll be fine and still walk and if you can find Gas X strips those are great also. Good luck!! -

8 days postop.....feeling great!
wynk11 replied to wynk11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes it is a very emotional process. But the key is to remember WHY you went this drastic. This isn't anything to be taken lightly and it's not easy. You have to do the work. Anything worth Having is worth working for it. I'm very thankful my recovery has been complication free. -

When can we drink soda
wynk11 replied to amielou26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A question was asked to people who are in a similar situation. I think your personal lectures on "backsliding" and such is really uncalled for and rude. We all have vices but they're not the same. The analogy using AA was good except when you go to a meeting and admit you fell off they don't get lectured they get support to fight another day. The purpose of this forum so I thought was for support. The purpose of our new tool is ultimately to learn how to live life with things in moderation. If you can drink soda, eat dessert, drink alcohol and any other taboo behaviors in moderation then your on point!! Less judgment people we get enough of that from "regular" people no place for it here. Have a blessed day! ; ) -
Can't remember if its broth only or can I do tomato south?
-
Is it painful to touch or achy? Were your legs swollen before surgery? Did you have leg pumps on in hospital? I had cankles prior to surgery and now that they're down they are achy but its getting better daily. Good luck!

4 days post op broth only?
wynk11 replied to wynk11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been doin water and protein shakes since surgery. Tried skim milk Thursday and my belly rumbled crazy! I Luv Edy's sugar free pops and yes I got Italian ice also. I work in a hospital and yes their broth is tasty! Although I have a delayed "dumping" feeling when I swallow. Then I either burp or hiccup. Is this because my belly is still new? -

I know I'm doin what's best for me and my health but I'm 4 days postop and I'm wondering if this was the right decision. I'm hungry and I'm sick of my stomach rumbling!! I'm already missing food! The liquid preop and postop phase is killer!! Can't wait to chew something of substance. Just needed to vent I'll be ok tomorrow.
