Two Weeks post-op and seem to be tolerating food TOO well! Help, nervous!
Perfect_Lady3 replied to Perfect_Lady3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you very much! I'm so glad to hear that it's not abnormal. Especially after seeing so many people at the same point as me and not being able to get pass two teaspoons of a puréed food before feeling so full. Thanks All! -

Thank you so much....I was really concerned, but your explanation makes sense. I didn't think about the numbing feeling. -

Soooo, I'm trying not to panic, but I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing or has experienced this. I'm two week post op today and I've been drinking my protein shakes, water, creamy soups, applesauce, and yogurt and I've been tolerating them fine! Today, my nurse prac told me that I could start to introduce retried beans to my diet and I did. I are almost 2 ounzes, but didn't feel, that super full sensation that everyone talks about, which. Has me nervous. The only reason I didn't eat more was because that's all I had in my bowl. I'm concerned because my sleeve is 3 ounces, but I haven't felt that full sensation yet. I'm looking at others pics about how they took two bites and were so full, but I'm not having that....I'm wondering is my sleeve really only three ounces? Why am I tolerating so much? I'm nervous and frustrated! -

Congrats to you! I got my call this morning and I'm approved too!! Now I'm waiting to get a call from the surgeon's office to schedule. It won't be long now! Good luck to you!

Oh wow, okay...that's fantastic! So happy for you! Best wishes and keep us posted girl! I wonder if a letter would work for me even if I haven't been denied yet...
-
Yyyyeeessss, congrats!!! Very happy for you! Question, did you loose the 10% required for our insurance or did it work out another way? Please share...still working at the 10%, but it's so hard!
-
Greetings my fellow VSG hopefuls. I'm just checking in to see how everyone is doing. MSKOIYA, have you had any luck with your 10%. I am still working on loosing mine and it truly is a struggle, ugh. I am remaining persistent, but just want to get past this hurdle.

Dang, MsKoiya...I'm sorry to hear that. I know that was a huge let down. I know that they are pretty rigid around their requirements, especially the 10% weight loss. And to think, I was happy that they didn't require the 6 month diet plan, but I would def had preferred that because there's no pressure to loose the weight during that time. I still have 16 pounds to loose for my m10% and I've been doing Atkins and the cabbage diet. It sucks, but I really want to get the pounds down and just move on with it. Be encouraged girl, I feel your pain and the struggle, EVERYDAY! Lets stay in touch about the process.

Morning TN_VOLS_MIMI! Congrats on being close to your last 6 month appt! I would much rather had to have the 6 month supervised diet, instead of having to loose the 10%...at least I would have a better time frame! Keep us posted!!!

Good morning! MSKOIYA-Did your requirements say that you had to loose 10% of your body weight? Mine does not require the 6 month supervised diet, but the 10% weight loss. Did you get a letter or anything g reporting why you didn't loose it, but had tried? It is really frustrating and 10% is a lot to loose prior to. Please keep us posted! Looking for good news! Also, I'm not in the stage of TN, but my company is headquartered there :/.

Thanks for your responses and I'm so glad to hearth at people have been satisfied with b BCBSTN, because I've heard otherwise. I'm not in TN, I work in DC, but my company is a TN based one, so it's been difficult because there not much in network choices here. Luckily, the hospital that is in network is good and a center of excellence. My requirements are 10% weight loss from high lest weight, BMI 40, Nut appointment, Psyh eval (must include a eating disorder inventory and MMPI personality inventory), 5 years documented weight loss. I'm 13 pounds away from my 10% and it's just frustrating because its been really hard to loose it. It's good to see others with this insurance because its taken me a while to find some ppl with it, so thanks for replying.

Anyone have this insurance?? Just wondering what the approval process was like. I am in the process of gathering all required documentation and just wanted to know people's experience with them. I haven't come across many people who had this insurance.
