  1. Thanks everyone for your input, it's greatly appreciated. I'm going to get a second opinion as to what is going on with the band.
  2. I had my band done in March 2007 and lost about 130 pounds. I managed to keep the weight off for four years but noticed my band seemed to stop working About 2 1/2 years ago I had steadily began gaining weight no matter how many times I've had it filled. I have filled it so tight to the point where I cannot get any food down but when it gets passed the band I can eat like I did before the band. I believe it has slipped because I have restriction but no sense of fullness but my doctor says it isn't impossible because of the way it was anchored. My doctor is recommending that I have plication surgery to reduce my stomach volume and that works well with existing bands. I am leaning towards getting it done because I am heading towards gaining all of the weight back. I am leaning towards plication because it seems to be the least invasive and no resectioning of internal organs. Has anyone else here had the plication surgery after the band? What are your thoughts.
  3. Happy 51st Birthday ccattorney!

  4. I was banded in March of 2007 and lost 125 pounds but since then I have had 3 fills and the doctor says I am at max fill about 18 months ago. I have almost no restriction even after the fills and have gained back about 40 pounds. Any advice? should i unfill completely then refill? The doctor says I may have too large a band and need a revision which i'd like to avoid. Thanks in advance for your responses

    Anyone else SUPER cranky??

:heh:I sometimes find I am irritable for no good reason. The only thing that works for me is cardio which seems to improve my mood
  7. I was banded 3/8/07 at 344 lbs and weigh 264 now. For the past month I've been losing 3.6 pounds a week. I am not hungry and have no problems with my band yet my doctor wants me to get a fill this week. I am thinking if it's not broke, don't fix it. I don't want to start PB'ing or other things I've read about. Why is he insisting on a fill and if I have to have one, how much should it be for a 10cc band? any responses appreciated.:help:
