  1. I wonder if the pain changes after you have lost some weight. Maybe with less in the way, there would be less pressure on the port? Any input anyone?? my surgery date is coming up and having the answer to this would be way helpful for me and my DH. mahalo, and aloha

    What to Wear After Surgery

Big Wave, I have seen your G's, and lots more.... teehee
  6. He (the doctor) just said liquid. So I guess its anything that is liquid at room temperature. But as I said this is for the few days just before surgery. Previous to this we were put on a modified diet. mostly protein and veggies, very little carbs, and I don't know how much fat, but I am sure it wasn't much. I am to be banded on August 28th and we both have been doing this diet since June 15th. I have lost 6 lbs in 3 weeks and my hubby has lost 14 lbs. Good Luck to all.
  7. Hi everyone,my hubby just had his pre-op appt. with the surgeon and he was told to go on full liquid starting now, his surgery is July 11th. One of the reasons, and I never thought of it is, that when you go on liquid not only are you shrinking your liver, which is good, but you are also shrinking your stomach, which then enables you to get a smaller band to start, less risk of slippage, and also a head start on the weight loss. That way I would think you would get more restriction right from the start.
  8. who says us PHAT (pretty hot and tempting) gals have no fun.
  9. Wow you guys, now I didn't think of that either, so if anyone knows the answer to that question about the "position" , legs and all, let me know. It would be good to know. Boy are we getting to know each other or what?????
  10. I haven't really looked very hard, but to my husband delight, I might have to look harder. LOL
  11. Mayabe someone should go and check the actual "nutritional" content, then I could incorporate it into my diet plan. Teehee...

  18. Hey ladies, you guys are too funny, my husband reads the threads with me and he finds it hilarious, but twice in 30 minutes he finds unbelievable. He loves all the responses. With all the replys though, I never thought about having to wait 30 minutes before eating or 1 hour after eating. Well guess I should go and have all the fun I can now without all this guessing, mahalo all...

    can someone explain?

from what I have heard, is that it is help shrink your liver. That way there will be more room in the abdominal cavity to place the instruments safely. The more room the better. Also I am sure it also helps to get you into the mindset of eating differently also for after the surgery. Good Luck.
  23. maybe just ready..... you have been waiting so long and you know that you made the right decision. I know all will be good. This is the right time for you. A Hui Ho
  24. Thanks all for the replies, it was good to know of everyones experiences and knowing that I can't hurt myself too much.
