I am having my surgery tomorrow and today I started my menstrual. It may be a silly question but will this hinder my operation at all?

Embarrassing question....
Stacey79 replied to Stacey79's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is day 2 at home and it wasn't that bad at all. Still a little sore but up and walking outside for 30 min at a time. Doing good on my fluid intake. So far so good. -
Omg@tlah!!!! I am positive many sleevers cheated on their preop diet!!! That doesn't mean they will not be successful at their weightloss. Thats why many have the surgery, we cant do it alone even for two weeks. I cheated and Im still gonna be a skinny b**ch when I cheat post op too!!! If you have had this surgery and are doing everthing perfectly, why did you have it done in the firstplace??? That's all!

Don't feel bad....my surgery is tomorrow and Ihave cheated off and on the whole 2 weeks. I still managed to lose10 lbs and my surgeon said at least 5 so I am good! The main thing is just not to gain weight which enlarges the liver.

After 3 denials I was able to appeal the decision and now I'm finally approved!! My surgery is scheduled for May 6th. Now my only obstacle is coming up with the money needed upfront. I know $1400.00 isn't that bad but when you have four kids and live pay check to paycheck things are tight . I just have to keep faith that God didn't bring me this far for nothing. Feeling anxious, scared, excited, just about every emotion possible.

Is Cigna always a nightmare to get approval?
Stacey79 replied to sissytx's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have Cigna and yes it was a nightmare but don't give up, they just like to play hard ball. They denied me 3 times through my surgeons office. I finally got to appeal the decision myself and was approved within a week. Just make sure you turn in everything and have things worded correctly by doctors. I was being denied because my doctor wrote Iwas a good candidate for the surgery due to low risk of complications. Cigna wanted the exact words "cleared for surgery" and after I had my doctor write that Iwas approved!!
