Need Recommendation Finding An Affordable Doctor In US(VSG)

There's a large list floating around if you use the search box. I paid $9600 in Louisiana. -
Who eats McDonalds post op?
Mrs.RRn replied to mi75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@mi75 - It's however YOU want to live. Some people eat pizza after weight loss surgery. Some people eat clean. There's more than one way to skin a cat??? ... Uh, you know what I mean. Do what's realistic for YOU. (Although, more than likely, those who've changed their food choices do better with weight loss, cravings, and head hunger??) -

Hopefully you won't WANT to. -
Divorce rates and WLS. (link to article inside)

Sounds scary. -
What I eat most: chicken, beef, shrimp, veggies, yogurt, fruit, nuts, cheese. I don't feel like it gets old, because I'm not a slave to food anymore. It's nourishment, as it should be. For a few months eating was a "chore" Now it's just necessary for life.

Go to My Ticker. Then Add To Signature. I think. Lol

Do you really only have a year?
Mrs.RRn replied to squeaker31's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, there's no "time limit." But you do get max results in the first year, so take advantage. -
I'll def be trying 5x5. Sounds like what I need. Thanks y'all!!

Maybe she doesn't know enough people. Lol Seriously, find a new PCP, because this one will obviously not be helpful after the surgery. You need everyone on your team, including your doc.

Thanks!

Thanks. My gym offers that, and it's really fun. But I was looking more for heavier weights, lower reps.

I love to do my cardio at home (outdoors). But I also love going to the gym. If you haven't been in a long time, I'd suggest a trainer just to show you good form. It'll def be a confidence booster, which will help you keep going.

@@Jen35 the above is correct. Also, if/ when it happens again ask the doctor to check your pancreatic enzymes (amylase & lipase). Since the pain is occurring after alcohol consumption, your pancreas could be involved. Good luck!

Do you have any clue what size your original surgeon created your stomach to be? -
One Year Post and Regaining :(

If you know you're eating too much (volume) & not the right foods, what makes you think another surgery is the answer? -
Thanks y'all! I'd post my before/after pics, but no one's home to take them for me! LOL. I'll be doing that in a few days when hubby gets home.

My fav snacks: cheese, nuts, Greek yogurt, fruit, veggies & hummus, beef jerky, crunchy peanut butter and apples, Quest bars or a protein shake -
Do you hope to get smaller than your goal? Why or why not?
Mrs.RRn replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Since it's a different question, I'll give a different answer. When I started all this, I THOUGHT my ultimate goal would be 140 lbs (that would be 100 lbs lost). I breezed through that. And my doc gave me a goal of 132 (even though he said he'd be happy with me in the 140s). Once I got to 132, I didn't know what to do. I never thought of being that small. Even as a teen, I never weighed less than 170. My surgeon's new goal is 115 lbs by May 2015. I then told him I wanted to start lifting (heavy) weights. So, we now have no clue what my next weight goal is... But here's MY goal: lift my body weight without gaining weight. Honestly, I'm shocked by my current weight. But now that I'm here, I'm wanting to go a little lower. -
From the album: 10 th Month Post-Op
Chicken sausage & green beans; side of Garlic & Lime shrimp from Chilis; cheese, 1/8 c. cashews, 1/2 box raisins; chicken baked in BBQ sauce & veggie; egg, cheese, 1/3 banana (couldn't eat all of this) -

I'm a size 6 (most days of the month). I'd like to lose a little more, but I don't want to be "skinny." I LOVE me some muscles! -
Yeah, I still have mine. Except they're just saggy nipples. Pretty picture?? Lol
-
I'm so tired of people thinking I'm sick and frail because I lost weight!!! Or saying, "yeah, but how do you FEEL??" ... Expecting me to say terrible??? I feel empowered, awesome, healthy, happy, proud I'm not sickly: at 128 lbs, I'm fit. I have muscle. I lift. I run. I'm flexible. (Ok, maybe still technically "overweight".... All the more reason I'm not sick & frail!!!)

Is the sleeve safe long term?
Mrs.RRn replied to Cutechiq10's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My grandfather had most of his stomach removed many many years ago d/t a bleed... He's still kicking (healthy besides his unrelated COPD) at the young age of 91--- I swear he'll outlive us all.
