I've NEVER been to a Whole Foods in my life, but I'll be shopping there later this week. I'm 1 month out and can tolerate most foods, so far. I'm sure it's going to be a little overwhelming, so I plan to make a little grocery list before I go... I need a little help. What are your must-haves from Whole Foods??

And the best one yet for me... Yesterday I had a follow up with my surgeon. While listening to my heart he said, "oh wow, your heart rate has gotten so much slower!" YAY!!!!! Prior to surgery my resting heart rate was 120's-130s. Now it's in the 60-70s!!!! I'm loving what all these changes are doing to my body!!!

Lots of questions...please help!
Mrs.RRn replied to SaraLou's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I was a self-pay as well. My husband is dead-set against credit cards and financing anything but homes, so we starting saving cash. I felt like it was going to take forever. But we ended up refinancing our home (interest rate from 4.9% to 3%) and we were able to get money from that and still have a lower monthly payment. It was a win-win for us for sure. -
For sure check with your doctor.. Not every medication can be crushed. And not every medication can be restarted soon after surgery.

YES!! That's actually the only time I ever felt hungry... And for the whole week! Ugh!

My husband and I had a nice date night tonight at Red Lobster. PostOp eating out is quite different than before. For example, The waitress thought it was VERY strange I refused to order a drink (I didn't want it near me to tempt me). Lol. I also found transferring my food to a smaller plate made eating out less overwhelming. I ordered grilled shrimp and coconut shrimp (my husband wanted coconut shrimp) with a side of veggies. Pre-sleeve I would have shared and appetizer, eaten a couple biscuits, ate nearly everything on my plate, and possibly dessert. The plate above is what I ordered and what the pre-sleeved me would've eaten. The plate below is what I ate (minus a couple bites of the veggies).

Totally agree- I like that idea!

I'm eating my first one now-- pretty good actually, I was afraid it would be too hard or too chewy. I cut mine in 1/2 and eating 1/2 as lunch. What do y'all usually do? Whole? Half? Meal? 1/2 as snack?

I feel the same- I purchase items just because I can put them on. I can't wait for the day that I can choose my style!!! Congrats on your 78 lb weight loss!!

Things I love! (and some I don't)
Mrs.RRn replied to jandseakin's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Great post!! I'm also loving not missing carbs and having very little cravings. The one thing I've been craving is steak, but I'm trying to hold off on that. I quite surprised that I am so satisfied by the food and the amount I can eat. It's such a relief!! My biggest con: having to plan so much ahead, but its really helpful to do so.
