No NSAIDS with the Sleeve?
Mrs.RRn replied to sonya139's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Every doctor will say something different. Mine says no NSAIDS ever. Some just say for x amount of days/weeks/years after. -
Your PCP can refer you to one.

Does anyone feel like this is just TOO good?
Mrs.RRn replied to Mrs.RRn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think y'all are so right about paying it forward and helping others!! Such a great way to look at it! -
I'm a little over three months and still feeling that way. It's especially difficult when my husband's away for work and no one is there to force feed me. Lol. I eat bc it's time to eat. I'm rarely hungry and don't really have many cravings (if I do, it's usually for steak). I actually hope this continues.

Fantastic!

My doctor told me walking for the first 2 weeks, then swimming and light hand weights after week 2, and then at the following appointment (week 5 I think) he told me to start training for the Olympics. Haha.

The walking is great - but I would not suggest squats for at least the first couple weeks. Don't wanna pop anything! Ick!

How far out are you?

Keeping it Real & Keeping Regular....
Mrs.RRn replied to PGee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My doc says don't go more than 3 days w/o a BM. After a few dreadful times of impaction, I decided to start taking Colace - a stool softener- daily (1 or 2 depending on what I'm eating). If it's already day 3, I take a laxative (usually Milk of Mag). But the Colace has seemed to be helping avoid that so far!! (But I just started this regimen last week). -
Well hello! And good luck!!

Liver Shrinking Diet
Mrs.RRn replied to BlazinAshes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had no preop diet- my surgeon said he doesn't believe it makes enough of a difference (it's not worth the trouble) and he's been doing wls since the early '80s. It's just each surgeon's beliefs / opinions. -
taking pills after surgery

Be sure to ask your surgeon-- this is very important as not all medications can be crushed. -

Nutritionist Visit FREAKED me out :-(
Mrs.RRn replied to PinkBubble's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1. Excessive thirst?? I don't this is quite as common as your NUT told you it is. I drink the recommended amount (64 oz/ day) and I usually don't feel thirsty beyond that. Actually, some days I feel like I'm drowning! Lol the only issue I have with thirst is after a workout reminding myself not to gulp Water, as that tends to hurt. 2. Not drinking with meals: Ok, I know some people break this rule, but its an important one, especially at the beginning. You want your food to stay in your belly as long as possible to feel fuller longer and (more importantly) give time to absorb nutrients. You get used to it. Just don't have the drink next to you- don't tempt yourself. 3. Unfortunately, I don't think you can get past the first couple months without Protein shakes. After that, you should be able to get enough from solid sources (with much work and planning, of course). This surgery def comes with a lot of lifestyle changes. My advice to you would be to stick to your doctors plan in order to be sucessful and healthy. -
Mine comes out in small clumps. Just avoid the hair pulling. Maybe a braid (50 Shades inspired)?? Lol

I've repeated days when I either waited too many days between (rainy days or whatever) or when I felt that I could do better. BUT... I've had to slack off doing c25k bc my blood sugar keeps dropping. I'm sticking with the 1st week and alternating with walking days until I can get my calories up a bit.

soft foods.. how much should I eat?
Mrs.RRn replied to hope1106's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a firm believer in under-eating my sleeve. After all, how can you know you can eat over a cup of food if you never try it? I measure EVERYTHING. I'm only 3 months post op and feel stuffed with 2-3 oz. And as for soft foods... My aim was 2oz. And my doctor recommends 3 meals & 1 snack per day (if you need the snack) -
