Some docs want you to buy specific brands, but my doctor wasn't too picky. I use Flintstones Complete, Tums (calcium), and B12 (the berry flavored dissolvable tablets from Walmart- don't know the brand name). And apparently these things are working bc my lab work looks fantastic! I also take Biotin and (tmi) Colace daily. In the beginning I'd def buy some Gax X strips and children's Tylenol as well. Hope this helps!

Does anyone feel like this is just TOO good?
Mrs.RRn posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I want to start off by saying- 1) I'm not complaining. 2) I'm not bragging. But do any of you feel like you've had it too good?? 3 months post op I'm feeling and doing wonderful! I'm following my plan, hitting my goals on time, no hiccups really. Even the surgery itself went smoothly and with very little pain afterwards. But lately I've been meeting people (who are either post op VSG or band) who are doing TERRIBLY- complications, feeling sick, not losing weight, etc. I sometimes even feel guilty (not sure if that's the best word- but the best way I can think to describe it) that I'm all happy & healthy and others are so miserable. A man from my home town is currently hospitalized after complications from his sleeve- he's doing very poorly- and I guess seeing all the posts on FB about his situation really makes me feel so lucky/blessed with my outcome-- but guilty at the same time. Does this make sense at all?? -

Ok, I was wondering what kind of activity we were talking about... Ahem, I wear compressions when I work out: shirts that is. Never tried compression shorts. Do you like them? -

How dangerous is vomiting?
Mrs.RRn replied to Rena's got this's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a lot of nausea/ intense gagging the first 24 hrs (had nothing to actually vomit), but my doctor said it wouldn't cause a problem. But past the 24 hr mark, I've only had one vomit episode. -
I wouldn't ... But my sleeve is a snob.

Post op appt, have a few questions
Mrs.RRn replied to ArtistNic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
40 lbs in a month seems like a big goal coming from your surgeon. The post op care you're getting isn't unusual- similar to mine. BUT... If you want what was agreed on preop, you should def question your doctor's office. -
Blue Gatorade and 1 oz medicine cups (used to drink from)

Everyone's diet is different.... But probably not.
