  1. Hi everyone! New here! I'm looking into having VSG (hopefully sometime this year) in Louisiana. I'm looking for any info you guys may have about self-pay in Louisiana or surrounding states: costs, doctors, hospitals, any information/ suggestions really. Thanks!
  2. This past week made 4 months since my vertical sleeve gastrectomy.... Sometimes I can't believe it's real. As of 2 days ago, I am 75 lbs down since my surgery weight. And I feel FANTASTIC! This is absolutely the best thing I've ever done for myself. PS: Are y'all still getting the error messages for blogs / gallery??. I'm just dying to update! LOL I have pics of what I've been eating as well as some NSV pics that I can't wait to share.

    What's for lunch?

Just wanted to get some ideas. It's hard to cook for just 1. Today's lunch: frozen chicken breast (2 oz) baked in a bit of chicken broth w/ green Beans. What are y'all eating today??

    Is this much protein normal?

I don't think its "normal"... But it sounds pretty good!

    Happiness Is.......

Great NSV! Congrats! What made me happy today??? Well, my A/C was broken (not happy), but I didn't sweat at all (happy!). Before I would've been found fanning myself in a puddle of sweat shoveling ice cream into my mouth.

    not uploading pics?

I know.. It's killing me! lol **dramatic** But seriously, yes, I want to upload pics & write in my blog-- a therapist is too expensive..

    4 months post op (pic)

Thanks! Basics of my eating: -3 meals (2-3 oz), 2 snacks(1-2oz)... (my Dr would like 1, but I tend to have low blood sugar after this sx) - min of 65g Protein. I average between 80-100 g/day. - min of 60 oz Water - I eat mostly meat, veggies, and dairy. And some fruit and nuts. - I had stopped protein supplements but started again when I started shedding (I panicked; it just made me feel better, lol. My Dr. laughed when I told him that.) - I also have chosen to avoid all bread/pasta/rice etc. I've been very happy with that decision- I thought it'd be more difficult. I wish the blog/ pic would work bc these details would be in there w/ pics of my food! (Sorry, Mini rant) Exercise: 1-2 hours a day except Saturday- nothing extreme . And I might skip a day here and there if I had a particularly long shift at work. I was also down around 40 lbs around week 8, similar to you.

Thanks y'all!!! I'm 4' 11" Starting weight: 240 lbs (highest weight 245) VSG on 6/11/13 Current weight: 165 lbs. size: who knows?? Lol
  10. That's all I had to do as well. No complications here.
  11. Oh WOW!! Haha And I'm not sure why.. But I was wondering if anyone else experiences the same thing... When I have a waiter or waitress who is of a different nationality (mainly Hispanic or Asian) they never seem to make a big deal of it like Americans do. Is drinking with meals a cultural thing?? Or more about better service?
  12. No way! I've taken care of too many bypass patients with way too many problems. I'm happy to say everything is going smoothly, and I'm so excited about my weight loss!
  13. I left the same day and was so happy about that. I felt much better not being in a hospital!
  14. The only thing I ever had trouble with is not ordering a drink. I really just didn't want one around afraid I'd drink out of habit. You know, out of sight/out of mind. The waitress/waiter would always ask, "are you sure you don't want anything to drink?? You sure? Really?" Lol. I once even got the, "but water is free." ... So now when I first sit I say, "no thank you. I don't drink with my meals." And that seems to work perfectly. And Indigo 1991 was right, once you lose lbs, no one seems to notice what you eat. It just seems normal.

    "Hair" Today, Gone Tomorrow...

Prematurely grey- HAHA. Sorry, had to laugh. I have not changed my grey covering schedule, and I see no difference in the amount of shedding. I think it's safe.

    What's for lunch?

    I'm drooling over this. Lol
  17. Mrs.RRn

    Coffee and hot chocolate

    That actually sounds tasty!

    Beef Jerky anyone?

I can eat it easily. But I can't really give any insight on nutrition (besides its high in protein).

    Ladies after surgery...

It's your doctor's preference. I did not have one, but my surgery was also outpatient.

    "Hair" Today, Gone Tomorrow...

My scalp hurts as well. Especially when I change directions (like flick it to the opposite side). I just thought I was being crazy! LOL

    Dehydrated?

    Sounds right.
