    Photo collage before/after WLS.
  2. Hit my goal weight yesterday . I'm down 95 pounds from April 1st 2013. My Surgery was April 30th. I have been very active cycling, running doing whatever I can. I plan to run my first half marathon with my wife in April 2014. I continue to seek new ways to be healthy. I am strongly considering a vegan or vegetarian diet, I am still in the information gathering stage though. I look forward to the next cycling season and plan on doing a century ride(100 miles) every month during the summer. I couldn't of did this without my VSG, I am very confident that this would have not been possible without it. Now comes the hard part or so I tell everyone who asks. I frequently tell people that loosing the weight has never been difficult for me to do, but the hard part is maintaining my ideal weight and health lifestyle. Below is a photo collage I made last night of my transformation. Although this forum has not been a regular place for me to visit I am thankful it is here for reference. Good luck everyone. https://plus.google.com/photos/111581900533993864040/albums/5945897800741732593?authkey=CLrvrJvQk5uonQE Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight Loss Tools

  6. I am just a few days ahead of you(April 30th). Prilosec might work but I have been on the stuff for years my stomach still sings like crazy. Try some decaf lemon ginger tea with a smidge of honey. Also walking is highly effective.

  9. Don't pick!! Your chances of contaminating your incision site drastically go up. You ever hear of MRSA? Suck it up, it's your body healing.
  10. So I am POD#3 things have been great besides some gas discomfort. I am on the clear liquids for a week sipping my water. Lifes good. I am down 5#'s since surg date. I have been noticing a trend of other pre-op wls patients and my caregivers in the hospital asking me; "WHY"? "You're not big enough to have the surgery yet" or "You don't need the surgery". I guess it wasn't safe to assume that other wls patients haven't been going through the same battle as me for a majority of their lives. I just didn't wake up 100 pounds overweight. I can understand my caregivers because I am one. Especially because where I was operated on is pretty new to having WLS patients. My first experience of dealing with this type of judgement was at the bariatric surgery seminar that I attended. I was looked at up and down by a gentleman my age but in the 450 pound range. Never have I had to ask myself the question do I need this. This is tool to help break a chain, my destiny. FAT and BALD. I will settle for the bald part, I enjoy not paying $28 a month in haircuts. Has anyone else encountered this type of behavior?
