    Post op march sleevers

Ok, went to my 6 week post op....225.7 and was told keep chugging along!! Still full liquids, applesauce consistency...and sip sip sip. He said my choice in egg protein was great and that as long as I keep going the way I am I'll be very successful. He did confirm to me...to expect stalls and not get discouraged. It's our bodies way of saying whoa nelly what's happening here? Our bodies will freak out and plateau at times and think either we are starving or try and retain water, or just try to readjust to our changes. He said do not give up...keep moving forward our bodies and weight will catch up.

I'm at 225 I see my Dr today to find out if I've lost more over the last few days. I'm still chugging along. Is everyone still on full liquids or soft foods? I'm doing my shakes and jello, pudding, soups. Just ate 4 baby shrimp ( no breading) a few days ago...had no problems, but not risking anymore until doc says ok.

    New Whey Liquid Protein 42g

Yes, Egg White protein has great qualities and some nut's say it's better than the processed whey. It packs a punch in a small scoop with 24 g of protein and isn't hard to shake or blend. If people like myself can't handle the whey, soy and egg white are best alternatives. Just maker with the soy that they don't pack a punch of sugar in it. It should have less than 5 grams I believe. Either way if the carbs/sugars out way you nutrient benefit..stay away. However Jay Robb has not ever disappointed me. When you go to GNC, ask them to let you try all of Jay Robb's items, you'll be surprised how good it tastes!!

    New Whey Liquid Protein 42g

I eat Egg because whey tastes like baby formula...and I can't tolerate whey. You might not have issues with it. I only use soy and Egg white protein. If you want what I said smelled like cake and no after taste it's egg white protein.

I used a mixture of lavender oil with coconut oil you can purchase it in your local market sometimes in the oils and baking /frying oils. It's wonderful for your skin and has healing properties also.

    New Whey Liquid Protein 42g

Yeah I love them !!! The vanilla tastes like cake and it mixes with so many things. The most wonderful thing is the taste and amount of Protein per small scoop. There is 24 grams per scoop, that's without the milk or any additions to it. I mix in the morning a scoop of vanilla powder, with 6-8 oz of Atkins daily morning shake...whir it around in my blender and add ice to keep it cold. My husband is now using soy and egg protein also to she'd a few pounds and he is a past roux en y pt back in 2000. Not that he needs to lose weight but he knows that shedding a few would help him too. Krogers in my town carries it, or go to his website. He's got wonderful products and his egg protein Seriously smells like cake...they have no nasty whey or after taste to them. He's a genius...and the egg white protein is actually great for you also!! Good Luck...keep in touch!

    New Whey Liquid Protein 42g

I'm using a small blender that I got a Walmart for $15 and it's for smoothies ect. It's made by Hamilton beach I believe...anyways...I use one 11 oz Atkins shake and one scoop of jay robb egg protein, mix and sip. It packs a wholloping 35-39 gr of protein and I drink 2 a day.

You are not alone in the field of barfing Protein shakes. I found 1 wk after surgery that I couldn't tolerate the whey Protein. I can't stomach the smell or taste...and when I did mask the flavor it didn't matter it came up. I tried the Nectar....I could tolerate the lemonade that was it but again it came up. Our nut let us try grape isopure....of course this was prior to surgery and it tasted fine. Boy was I wrong when I bought a bottle for almost $6 to only find it back up and the rest down the drain. I use egg protein now as the soy I have found gives me a gritty after taste. So far Jay Robb Egg Protein has been the best tasting w no repugnant smell or taste. It has 24g per scoop and isn't hard to mix.

I will have to try this as it seems like a really good idea. I mean it's perfect portions for us and if it can keep us in check w our intake and health then I'm for it. I always liked the fruits when I fed my babies..now 6 & 9 ..now here I am reverting to babyfood at 38 lol have you tried any of the cereals w bananas or just plain?

Deputy630 thanks for that info...I was sleeved 3/19 also and am a slow loser. (Wow that sounds horrible any way you say it) I have been taking two clingstones chewables with iron. I didn't even think of the baby food...but is it even palatable and what kind do you eat so far? My nut gave us a HUGE 3 ring binder with so much info it's insane...but good. They said to eat oatmeal (not flavored, plain only) grits or cream of wheat/rice. But I'm not getting protein that way...so I've been mixing a 11 oz Atkins shake with a scoop of Jay Robb egg protein in chocolate and it gives me 39 g of protein each time I drink it. The nut said its ok to do because it's not going to hurt me if I get over the 80 g of protein as long as I space it out and sip slow and still get my 64 oz of liquids. I'm having a heck of a time getting my daily liquid in!

    Stalled ????

I'm stalled again...and trust me it gets to ya and makes you feel like screaming! But I'm not giving up, I won't let it take control over me. That's what is the most important, don't give up on the end result. This page has some of the strongest people here, we took control and made the decision to get healthy....we ALL can do this!!

NikkiV, Gaby is right, if you mix the chicken Unjury with low sodium chicken broth it is SO much better!!! It does taste much better than it smells. I heat up my broth but watch the temp so the Unjury does get clumpy. I put mine in a cup with the lid and straw. This way I don't smell it....btw my Dr said the straw thing is goofy and it helps with sips better. You won't take up that much air....but maybe this will help you.
  24. my guess is if you can't stand the smell you won't continue to drink it for long...I've heard the premier shakes are thicker but not sure

    Stalled ????

Yes as proudgrammy stated...stalls happen. Sad but true....I too have been stalled and my surgery date was 3/19/13. My Dr said this..." Angela, drink that Protein, stay hydrated and move!" He said most generally our stalls are due to our body trying to stay hydrated and the protein we take in is getting used up due to dehydration....so I'm really working to hydrate and protein up! Hang in there!!!!!!! You can do this
