Made it to Onederland!
Sleevin'It replied to ohh_mandyy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved April 12, and I feel great. Still have a lot of restriction, but I'm stuck. I'm trying to incorporate more exercise into my routine to see if that helps. I've lost 65lbs but I started at 320, so I have a lot to goal. My doc wants me at 170! Feels like I'll never get there at this rate. But I'm gonna keep on keeping on and pray things move along soon! -

Please stick with your doctors recommended eating schedule. If you're bored, take that opportunity to get in your walking. Keep yourself hydrated and move. Good luck! -
You look AMAZING!!! Congrats!!!

I like the idea of giving your sister an aunts card and the sonogram. While she's opening the card, hand one to your parents. If she's confused, ask your parents to open their card too. So exciting to share your big news! Congrats to you and happy birthday to your sister!

After the procedure what should i expect?
Sleevin'It replied to Kay York's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've heard of people going back to work the following week after surgery. I'm a nurse and returned to work 10 days postop. If I could have, I would have taken a few more days because my endurance wasn't very high at first. After about 3 12hr shifts, I was feeling more like myself. Good luck with your surgery and congrats on the new job! -
Thank God (seriously) that we live in a society where people can believe what they want, say/write just about anything we want. If you believe in God or don't, that is your business. Everyone can believe what they want. I, for one, am a happy Catholic. If that makes me sheep, so be it. If that makes me foolish, I am fine with that. If my posting this response (even so late into the convo) makes me a target for ridicule, I'm okay with that too.

Where do you get the Oh Yeah! Victory bars? I enjoyed the Quest bars the first time I had one, but the second time (after buying a box), made me nauseous. Maybe I'll try cutting my Quest bars in half...

I am only 3.5 months out, so I'm not a vet yet, but i wanted to tell you what my surgeon said at my 3 month follow up. He said he considers the surgery a success if I lose about 7-9 pounds a month. You started off at a much lower weight than I was and are doing great! Keep doing what you are doing! And remember that while you are working out, you are building lean muscle that allows you to continue your progress. Good luck!!!

Congrats on getting your date! There's nothing wrong with getting nervous. As a matter of fact, it's probably normal! Before surgery, when nerves would hit, I'd think forward to my new life and all the things I'd get to experience. It really helped to calm me. Now I'm 3.5 months out and am really enjoying my life. I didn't know the depths of my food addiction until my ability to engage in it was so modified. Enjoy your first week of school, and look forward to your new beginning! Good luck!!!

I have messed up and I'm so annoyed with myself
Sleevin'It replied to Camella's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with Denise. We all mess up. Just pick yourself up and try again. This is a lifelong change that we are making. Our lives will be full of ups and downs. Just keep plugging away and your lifestyle changes will become the norm. Good luck and keep your chin up! -
That is an AWESOME NSV!!! Congrats!!!

I am tired and with upper back pain
Sleevin'It replied to mariadt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not sure what could be causing your back pain, but are you taking your vitamins and B12? The lack could cause fatigue. Good luck! -
So amazing! Thanks for sharing!
